Cumulus MX V4 Build Webtags Not working.

From Cumulus MX version 3 build 3044 the development baton passed to Mark Crossley. Mark has been responsible for all the Builds since, and has recently released Cumulus MX version 4. He has made the code available on GitHub. It is Mark's hope that others will join in this development, but at the very least he welcomes your ideas for future developments (see Cumulus MX Development suggestions).

Cumulus MX V4 Build Webtags Not working.

Post by BeaumarisWX »

Hi,
Since the release of CMX V4 i have noticed that the "#NewBuildAvailable" and "#NewBuildNumber" only ever return the following :

"#NewBuildAvailable" : "0"

"#NewBuildNumber" : " n/a "

Not sure if I'm missing something here or is this the intended output ?

I have always run a check on my website : Status page highlighting a new version available etc. though my script now displays incorrect as a result.
buildcheck.png
<#build> The build of Cumulus in use
<#NewBuildAvailable> This gets the value 0 or 1 and is checked on start-up and once a day thereafter at a random time
<#NewBuildNumber> It is checked on start-up and once a day thereafter at a random time. Displays the latest public release build number - eg. b3089

Hi Mark,

Not sure if it's me or not, but I can not seem to get any of the Davis Airlink webtags to work on my signature banner, even though there appears to be data in the tags if I check https://dw7240.com/Base-Canada/cumulusw ... iew=source on my site.

Banner is on http://dw7240.com/Base-Canada/banner.php.

Can you verift that tags do work outside of Cumulus so they can be used with other programs as above.

Thanks.

Nick.

You can check the tag output with the following in your browser...

http://<CMX_IP_ADDRESS>:8998/api/tags/process.json?AirLinkAqiPm2p5In

When I run that for my outdoor sensor I get "1.0" returned - which is my current UK AQI, well "1" is anyway!

Code: Select all

"AirLinkAqiPm2p5Out": "1.0"

Which AQI scale have you defined in Cumulus?

Have done as suggested, I get the same result.....

1 {
2 "AirLinkAqiPm2p5In": "-1.0"
3 }

Trying to use.....$AirLinkPm2p5_1hrIn , but have tried all of them without success on the banner.....all other tags work flawlessly, but the Airlink tags are a no go.

It looks like the other AirLink tags are returning valid data in the tags file, it's just the AQI value that is missing.

Again, which AQI scale have you configured in Cumulus?

Hi,

Not sure I understand what you mean by "Which AQI scale have you defined in Cumulus?

I can see all data ref. Airlink in Cumulus settings page etc, where is the configuration of airlink tags in cumulus, wasn't aware of any separate setup required, was trying to read the webtags for Airlink like any other webtag.

Hi Nick,

In Extra settings: I have my AirLink set as Canada - AQHI

Code: Select all

Extra Sensor Settings
Click on sections marked ▸ to expand them. Click again to collapse the section. Click the 'Save Settings' button to save the settings.
	Air Quality Settings
		Primary Air Quality Sensor:	Davis AirLink Outdoor
 						Sets the Air Quality sensor to use for graphing and sending to third parties,
 						leave undefined to suppress AQ graph data generation.
 						Note: AirLink Indoor values are not sent to third parties or the default web page.
			Air Quality Index:	Canada - AQHI
 						Select the AQI index calculation method you want to use
Enjoy,
Paul

Thanks Paul,

Have checked that page, my Airlink is inside and under Canada AQI.

I thought I read somewhere about the INDOOR webtags not being setup yet for working outside Cumulus in ref. to third party. Is this the reason I can't use mine as yet ?

If so do we have an ETA as to when they'll be switched on.

I'm guessing I could switch the settings to fool Cumulus into thinking its using an outdoor Airlink just so I can use the tags, but that really defeats the object, as the data would be all wrong. :roll:

Have you set your primary AirLink to indoor or outdoor in the extra sensor settings of Cumulus MX?

Just this.....

{"AirLinkAqiPm2p5Out":"--"}

which what I would expect from an indoor sensor setup.

Nick. - Sorry for the time spent on this issue, i feel there's an answer somewhere, if the webtags show the data, which we have shown do, then why doesn't the banner software pick them up, especially when all other tags work. :bash:
