I have been happily running v3282a as a service getting data from a WeatherLink Live unit for several weeks. Last night the Windows PC was inadvertently closed for about 15 minutes before being restarted. Other programmes - BlueIris and Homeseer - started up without any issues.
CumulusMX showed that the service was running but not able to get any data from the WeatherLink unit. The WeatherLink unit is online and reporting to a home automation system without any issues.
I tried stopping the service (via services.msc) waiting 10 minutes and then restarting the service but the service now fails to start.
I then tried to update to 4022 via "InstallCMX.exe" (Thanks HansR) via an elevated command prompt, selected the required zip file and location and it indicated that it was "done".
The service will still not start. I attach the latest log file which may mean more to somebody than it does to me.
I have two queries, firstly how do I ensure CMX restarts when the PC does and how do I actually get it to work again? What have I managed to totally upset here?
Any help appreciated!

Re: Cannot start CMX
I do not think that InstallCMX.exe will work on moving to CumulusMX V4 as this a major upgrade requiring additional facilities (i.e. .Net8 and file conversion). Please read this Topic viewtopic.php?p=179794#p179794

Re: Cannot start CMX
Many thanks for your reply. Stupidly, I had not twigged that v4 was such a major change. Although I am still wondering why v3 did not start up again when the PC did.
I will look to "upgrade" PC to be able to run v4.
Thanks again.

Re: Cannot start CMX
Indeed, InstallCMX.exe only installs. And you probably overwrote your CMX v3 by doing that. That in itself is not a major issue but I would rename the data directory to datav3 and run the conversion first.
Read the link given in the post above very well, continue step by step.

Re: Cannot start CMX
So your current CMX does not start because the dotnet environment is incomplete and because your data conversion has not been done.

Re: Cannot start CMX
Thanks Hans,
I have now managed to install net 8 without issue. I ma now trying to figure out how to do a clean install of v4 as I have forgotten how I did v3!
I have renamed the original v3 directory to CumulusMXv3 to try and avoid doing any more damage to my data - or what may be left of it!

Re: Cannot start CMX
Now more or less successful insofar as I have v4022 up and running as a service. I did note that, when setting up the PWS, the default suggestion of "-1" no longer appears to work. I had to find the "device id on Weatherlink" and input the six digit number rather than leave the default to be found.
Thanks to all for pointing out the major change - one day I may read a manual.....
