Minimum data set is not available

From Cumulus MX version 3 build 3044 the development baton passed to Mark Crossley. Mark has been responsible for all the Builds since, and has recently released Cumulus MX version 4. He has made the code available on GitHub. It is Mark's hope that others will join in this development, but at the very least he welcomes your ideas for future developments (see Cumulus MX Development suggestions).

Minimum data set is not available

Post by Dinant »

I'm using build 4022.

After a restart of CumulusMX for my Tempest station I see the following lines in the MXdiag file:

Code: Select all

2024-05-13 10:12:51.109  ========================== Cumulus MX starting ==========================
...
2024-05-13 10:13:00.041 Minimum data set of pressure, temperature, and wind is not available and NoSensorCheck is not enabled. Skip processing
This message is shown 9 seconds after the start of CumulusMX. In that interval there are no observation packets received. So there is no temperature, etc. available.
The observation records including temperature and pressure are send every minute. The rapid wind records are send every 3 seconds.
Maybe a suggestion to delay this test. Now the error is shown after every restart.

I think the message is valid, it is just telling you that MX was unable to honour your requested logging interval for that interval. I think it would be wrong to silently skip processing a logging interval. If you get this frequently then I assume you are using a 1-minute logging interval? That should give the warning just over 50% of the time assuming a random start-up time.

Yes, I have a 1-miniue logging interval. The message is only shown once at startup. After that everything runs fine, so no "Minimum data set ..." messages anymore.
