Some Data not Showing Up on Dashboard or Gauges

Hello all -
I am new to Cumuls and am experiencing some difficulty in gatting some of the data from my VP-2 to show up:
-> On the dashboard, Temperature, Pressure, and Solar Radiation are not showing up (Wind Speed, Wind Direction, and Wind Rose are OK - as are Humidity, Dewpoint, and Wind Chill)
-> On the "Gauges" page, WIth Outdoor temp selected, the reading is zero; with Indoor temp selected, it appears to be showing Outdoor Temperature.
-> Wind Speed is not being recorded, but Wind Direction and WInd Rose appear OK.
-> Still onthe "Gauges" page, Pressure, Solar Radiation, and UV all show as not reporting (Pressure is at 29.92, while the Weatherlink Console shows 29.86)
-> General Question: Should the Dashboard and Guages pages not be showing the same readings?
I've gone through all the settings several times and cannot find anything incorrectly set. Help?

Hi,
Zip the latest files from MXdiags folder, and best to enable Debug and Data logging and run that for about 15 minutes first. Then you can disable that logging. By Weatherlink Console do you mean the current new style console, or? What station type have you selected in Station settings?
Enjoy,
Paul

Hi Paul -
I am using the 6313 Console, selected VP2 WLC in setup. I don't see any zipped files in the MXdiags folder, only some .txt log files.
Here are a ew lines from the latest log file, showing that temp and pressure readings are being ignored. I suspect this points to a problem, but this is also where I am over my head.
2024-05-07 17:01:48.806 GetWlCurrent: Downloading Current Data from weatherlink.com

Hi,
By zip I meant to click on the files to select them, right click, and select Send to > Compressed (Zipped) folder, which will create a smaller zip file for attaching.
I presume by " selected VP2 WLC in setup" you meant selecting Davis WeatherLInk Cloud (WLL/WLC), is that correct?
The new Weatherlink Console device can display live data and upload to a Weatherlink.com "cloud" account, but it cannot be accessed directly for live data by other programs. CumulusMX can access the "cloud" data through the Weatherlink.com API, but there is a time delay. The Weatherlink Live or the logger type can be accessed locally so near live data for these devices. Having a look at a full MXdiags file will be helpful to see what all is happening.
Enjoy,
Paul

Hi,
It will also be helpful if you could attach the Cumulus.ini configuration file (located in your \CumulusMX\ folder) which is your settings file. If you have any upload setting included they are encrypted so should not be any security compromise.
Enjoy,
Paul

Hi Paul -
Here is a log file from this morning, along with the .ini file.
Thank you so much for your help on this!

Hi,
A number of things... it may sound daunting but one step at a time to keep it simple.
First one is the station type.
Code: Select all
2024-05-07 16:53:47.268 Station type: 20 - Davis Cloud (VP2)
Code: Select all
2024-05-07 16:53:48.413 GetStations: Found WeatherLink station id = 182590, name = Eastbourne Kingstowne
2024-05-07 16:53:48.413 GetStations: Found WeatherLink station id = 182594, name = Eastbourne Console
From the error log you have CMX settings as Davis Weatherlink Cloud (VP2).
You also show 2 Weatherlink.com accounts and I think each device has their own ID. WeatherLink station id = 182590, name = Eastbourne Kingstowne and WeatherLink station id = 182594, name = Eastbourne Console
I presume ID = 182594 is for the new Weatherlink console.
What upload device is for station ID = 182590? and
what device/Weatherlink.com station do you want to use?
Getting the correct station type may correct some of the other issues.
Second, units and spike removal.
Code: Select all
2024-05-07 16:53:48.973 Spike removal: Temp difference greater than specified; reading ignored
2024-05-07 16:53:48.973 Spike removal: NewVal=77.1 OldVal=999.0 SpikeTempDiff=999.0 HighLimit=60.0 LowLimit=-60.0
2024-05-07 16:53:49.004 Spike removal: Pressure difference greater than specified; reading ignored
2024-05-07 16:53:49.004 Spike removal: NewVal=29.7 OldVal=9999.0 SpikePressDiff=999.0 HighLimit=1090.0 LowLimit=870.0
2024-05-07 16:56:48.808 Spike removal: Temp difference greater than specified; reading ignored
2024-05-07 16:56:48.808 Spike removal: NewVal=77.0 OldVal=999.0 SpikeTempDiff=999.0 HighLimit=60.0 LowLimit=-60.0
2024-05-07 16:56:48.808 Spike removal: Pressure difference greater than specified; reading ignored
2024-05-07 16:56:48.808 Spike removal: NewVal=29.7 OldVal=9999.0 SpikePressDiff=999.0 HighLimit=1090.0 LowLimit=870.0
Make sure you have the units set correctly - Station settings > Units
and also your spike removal settings - Calibration settings and make sure the values are reasonable for all your units and location. The log seems to show temp of 77.1 (presumably fahrenheit) but HighLimit=60.0 (which is likely for Celcius users) and the same for Pressure.
No Dayfile -
Code: Select all
2024-05-07 16:53:47.473 LoadDayFile: No Dayfile found - No entries added to recent daily data list
Code: Select all
2024-05-07 16:54:00.719 LocalCopy: Error copying moon image - Could not find a part of the path 'c:/CumulusMX/Data/images\moon.png'.
2024-05-07 16:54:02.652 DoLogFile: Error encountered during MySQL operation = Unable to connect to any of the specified MySQL hosts.
Probably these errors are not connected but fix up the other things first and the see what follows. I've just done a quick scan of Cumulus.ini and MXdiags so could be some other issues.
Enjoy,
Paul

OK, I think I've gotten nearly everything corrected. Biggest Issue is that I had selected Temperature as Fahrenheit, but the Calibration settings were defaulted to Celsius. Now working to fix the dayfile issue.
Again, a million thanks!

I have found the problem with b4021 and the Limits - When changing units on first install, I had added unit conversion code for the Limits to the Station Settings dialog, but I forgot to copy that across to the configuration wizard.
So, if anyone did a clean install of v4 and changed any of the units using the Config Wizard the limits got messed up. If you copied over a working cumulus.ini file from v3/v4 or used the stations settings to configure the units everything would be OK.
