Heatindex/Humidex problem

I discovered I always have the same value of heat index and humidex !! and I have not seen anyone else who has it all the time !
I thought there were coding errors on the page but it turned out that in realtime.txt it is always the same value of heatindex and humidex !!
Is there any setting that can do that ?

Have a look for heat index in the wiki. Or move somewhere hot :)

Just that is the problem, heatindex should be same as temperature at this wheather, but my cumulus calculate it to same as Humidex !!!
See my realtime.txt

Right, I see what you mean. You have 'Humidex' displayed on your Cumulus main screen, rather than Heat index, yes? It's because of the way I write the value to the realtime.txt file, I just take it from the box on the screen, and I've forgotten to change it when I added the option of humidex. That's why you get the same values - I'll fix it.

It's interesting that the humidex value doesn't seem to have a cutoff like the heat index does, but that does appear to be correct. Can anyone confirm that?

Maybe it is some difference between ver.1.88 and 1.89
The normal Cumulus page does not show humidex but there is two pages who use "my" design one is not ready yet, only test page I think
and have both heatindex and humidex but they use 1.88 and dont have same problem as I se.

No, the difference is whether you have Humidex or Heat Index displayed on your Cumulus main screen (on your PC), and presumably you have Humidex? I would guess most people have Heat Index.

Yes, when I change to heat index on Cumulus main screen, heat index shows same value as temperature on the internet page !
I normally view humidex on my Cumulus screen because heatindex only change when its very hot 27 degrees, but Humidex
change all year around.

Yes, that's how it's supposed to work.

change all year around.
Well, yes, but it's not intended to work like that; it's a heat index, it's only supposed to be used in Summer; it tells you when the temperature/humidity combination is getting uncomfortably or dangerously high - just like heat index. I am probably going to change it so it can't be lower than ambient temperature; it doesn't make sense the way it is now.

Hi Steve,

I don't know if your question has been answered, if not, from my limited knowledge there doesn't appear to be a standard for a cut-off, however, it would seem appropriate to have one.

The Humidex is all to do with perceived temperature and associated health risks :-
Range of Humidex: Degree of comfort or discomfort

Less than 29 : Little or no discomfort
30 to 34 : Noticeable discomfort
35 to 39 : Evident discomfort
40 to 45 : Intense discomfort; avoid exertion
Above 45 : Dangerous discomfort
Above 54 : Heat stroke probable

A study attached found that even at an index of 30 C there is an increased risk to the elderly so perhaps you should arbitrarily choose one, my suggestion would be an index < 27 C should revert to ambient temperature. I expect you’ll get other suggestions….
