Hi,

Could you please tell me what the threshold is for the Battery Low Alarm being activated on the WLL. Is this configurable at all?

the battery warning comes from the WLL itself, so you cant set a battery warning limitation from within CumulusMX. have a look in the WeatherLink app or WeatherLink itself, but I doubt there will be a configuration to change what Davis deems as low voltage.

Both The User Manual and Spec Sheet show no threshold. you will need to chat with Davis themselves to find out that information. I've just replaced mine about a month ago, but I couldn't remember the voltage level, just the warning alarm, so then I just changed the batteries.

Actually the WLL does not send a flag only a voltage. I have used < 5.4V as the threshold = 1.35V per cell. Which gives a reasonable usable capacity left.

Remember these are backup batteries not service batteries, so they need a good usable capacity if they are to be any use. If they were service batteries, then the threshold would be lower and close to the point exhaustion.

My gripe is the WLL seems to still deplete the batteries slowly when it is running on external power

CMX has been giving me low battery warning 0.07 V for a while now. Weatherlink.com shows Input Voltage 4.7 V and Battery Voltage 0.1 V. I checked the batteries on my very basic voltage meter and they show Good. I ordered new batteries a week ago and they also show as Good on my meter, and put them in the WLL. The low battery messages and 0.1 V on WL.com continued so I contacted Davis support, and their reply: I must get me a decent voltage meter before I consider sending the WLL in to Davis ... I really know nothing about voltage meters, any recommendation?

Paul, I'd say any cheap meter should be good enough for that purpose.

Thanks everyone for the responses. I thought it was set at 5.4V but wanted to confirm and also find out if it was configurable. Time for battery replacement obviously.
