My station was installed in September 2023. I was not using the Davis last May. I can get it from another Cocoraphs station around me if you want.

I can't help you further because I still use Cumulus 1. I don't know anything about higher versions.
About the same thing in CU1 and CMX - "Rainfall season start" in CU1 and "Start of rainfall season" in CMX, just in a different Station setup menu tab.
Enjoy,
Paul
Clear
Adrian, just set the season start to january and it will be solved probably.
Another question pops up in my mind: what is the reason for the existance of this setting anyway? If you want to see the yearly rainfall it starts on the first of january. Or am I missing something?

The setting is not for the rain total in the calendar year, but for the "rain season" that some users have other than Jan - Dec. Somewhat similar to those that don't use Midnight for day end and instead use 9:00 am or 10:00 am.

I don't want.., but I don't know why you would want data from another station to be shown in your weather station data. I know Cumulus permits to add rain amount from before you started using it. See attached from CU1 Help.
Enjoy,
Paul

Where does the app get it's data from?

Perhaps I don't understand the purpose because here in the Netherlands it always seems to rain. We don't have a rain season, we have a rain year.

It would be the Davis Weatherlink App that gets the information from Weatherlink.com to which Davis' Weatherlink devices like Console, WLL, and dataloggers can upload their data. This data is then also available from Weatherlink.com to programs like CumulusMX for downloading archive data for periods CMX was not running (the same as from the old-style dataloggers).
I am not aware that a user can edit the data that is uploaded by one of their devices to weatherlink.com. CumulusMX only downloads or receives data from the Davis station or Weatherlink.com and has nothing to do with what is uploaded.
Enjoy,
Paul

I’m not expert with Davis equipment, but if I have understood correctly, your station reports directly to Davis weatherlink cloud service, and your iOS app gets its data from there. It has no relation to what modifications you do or don’t do in CumulusMX.
So to correct the data shown in mobile app, you would need to modify the data on weatherlink. But as @PaulMy stated few messages earlier, there is not known way to edit that data. Of course you could try to contact Davis support if they can help.

In your weatherlink app what is your yearly rain month set as? I'm guessing it's now January. Or your Year to date rainfall is wrong.
You need to go and check all options in the app.
