CMXv4 ExtraSensors Trends

From build 3044 the development baton passed to Mark Crossley. Mark has been responsible for all the Builds since. He has made the code available on GitHub. It is Mark's hope that others will join in this development, but at the very least he welcomes your ideas for future developments (see Cumulus MX Development suggestions).

CMXv4 ExtraSensors Trends

Post by Dador »

After some adventures, I'm currently testing the beta version.
I converted the files from the data folder. Initially, twice, because the program did not want to change the files from the current month. Anyway, everything works, the station reads and logs the main and additional sensors. The problem is that CMX selectively draws extra sensors.

For example, the extratemdata.json file is empty, with no numeric values.
Interestingly, some of the data is drawn, some is not.
There are no errors in MXDiags.
Graphs for primary sensors are drawn normally.

Charts:
Extratemp - not drawn;
Extrahum - drawn:
Extradew - not drawn:
Soilmoist - drawn;
Usertemp- not drawn.

The situation concerns the GW1000 gateway, where CMX directly reads additional sensors. Login works normally and correctly.

Well not sure where you are looking for the charts but on my dashboard the ones I have display fine, extra temp 1 and 2 and extra humidity 1 and 2. Also my json files have data. This is with an Ecowitt gateway. If you look at the WSView+ app do these sensors show up? Is it an actual GW1000 or one of the other models? If it is one of the other models what can you see looking at the web page for it?

No, I'm sure everything works fine.
Just yesterday it was drawing correctly in CMXv3. Additionally, Cutils correctly draws extra sensors, just not CMXv4.
I copied the Cumulus.ini and strings.ini files to the new version without any changes.
Everything works fine, but the program does not draw a few selected charts.

So you are saying the local interface does not plot the Extra Sensors correctly?

[EDIT:] I do not observe this. My extra sensors display correctly everywhere.

[EDIT:] But I do see that (see screenshot below) on the site an Extra Sensor does not plot. Is this a chart default to the standard CMX website?

    @Hans
    Yes, this applies to this site.
    I just went back to CMXv3. The program downloaded data from yesterday without any problems and draw (as usual) all values correctly. I also ran another clean install of CMXv4, with a new data folder, but I had the same problem there.
    You may have noticed that your Cutils draws well. So the ExtraLog202403.txt file is correct.
    My GW1000 is from Ecowitt. This is one of the first and oldest Internet gateways today.

    OK. Did you check if the Graph Files are correctly selected (settings=>Internet=>Graph File Settings)? These files are not required for CUtils as CUtils has the UserAskedData mechanism to have those data transferred so that would explain the discrepancy between the display behaviour.

    Yes, all files are created and saved.
    Maybe it's related, maybe not, but it turns out that CMXv4 draws the extra sensor values that are integers. I don't draw those with a decimal place. This is the first association.

    Mmm... That is something you can try yourself. I believe you can set the nr.of decimals somewhere.

    Otherwise some CMX specialist must look at it.

    The problem is that CMXv4 has nothing to draw from because it has no data :? .
    This is what my json files look like. Blank, without numeric values.

    extratempdata.json

    Code: Select all

    {"WH31 w cieniu - temp":[],"+5 cm - temp":[],"WH31 w Davis7714 - temp":[]}
    extradewdata.json

    Code: Select all

    {"WH31 w cieniu - pktrosy":[],"WH31 w Davis7714 - pktrosy":[]}
    usertempdata.json

    Code: Select all

    {"Temp gruntu (-5 cm)":[]}

    Aha...
    But you can use the conversion tool to convert all you v3 data! And from there seamlessly continue!
    I thought you had done that!

    Thoug all, it's done.
    All old data converted to commas and dots.
    The data is OK.
    Something else doesn't suit cumulus (I think so).

    To make matters worse, I have a memory leak. 500MB of RAM used is a bit much.
    Oh well, I'm back to CMXv3. I will wait for the next version v4.

    Sorry, I deleted the entire folder yesterday. I no longer have any data from CMXv4 :|

    I might add that at startup CMXv4 used about 130MB of RAM, which was strange to me (CMXv3 uses 20-30MB). Then it consumed more resources, up to 0.5GB.

    If I have the same problem in the next version, I will definitely pack it up and post it here.
