CMX 4 migration - extra sensor names?

From Cumulus MX version 3 build 3044 the development baton passed to Mark Crossley. Mark has been responsible for all the Builds since, and has recently released Cumulus MX version 4. He has made the code available on GitHub. It is Mark's hope that others will join in this development, but at the very least he welcomes your ideas for future developments (see Cumulus MX Development suggestions).

CMX 4 migration - extra sensor names?

Post by Nossie »

Missing something I'm sure - just did a test conversion of my data and everything went over fine....

Is there a file I'm forgetting about that has the extra sensor names? I thought that was updated on a cumulus file

thanks.
Ian.

I had forgotten to change the names of my extra temp sensors. Just found it is held in strings.ini so check your old and new files to see if the data was there in the old one. Edited in Locale settings.

I've just updated it in locale - thanks for that

I guess maybe the strings are regenerated and previous information disregarded? Not a major thing, but just trying to document anything that's needed. From memory I think there was a change from one format to another with strings, so maybe it only impacts people with these historic changes.

cheers,
Ian.

Just checked my v3 \datav3 folder and the v4 \data after migration from v3. Only the monthly log files have a changed name from month-year to year-mo. No change in my CustomLog nor ExtraLog file names. And everything has been working.

The v3 renamed \datav3 has a strings file, but that strings file is not in the migrated v4 \data. Did I mis something?

Enjoy,
Paul

Strings.ini lives in the root folder along with Cumulus.ini.

The V3 file should work with v4.

Yes it is in the root of my v3 and also copied over for v4, so I must have copied it in the v3 \data folder at some point in the past.
All is good.

Enjoy,

I have added the copy of strings.ini to the migration instructions.
