Hi,

My weather station has been out of action for 3 weeks as it was away getting repaired. During this time I was updating the Dayfile log with data from a nearby weather station. When I regenerate the NOAA Report everything is updated except for the Average Wind Speed. Is this figure obtained from the Readings Logs as it does not appear in the Dayfile log? If so, would it be possible to have it calculate the Average Wind Speed from the Total Wind Run as this is contained in the Dayfile and would then mean that all data is being generated from one location?

The daily average wind speed and average direction the only things in the NOAA reports that are calculated from the monthly log files, as you say those values are not in the day file.

Not really, because then the average speed would be derived from another derived rounded value which is probably not a good idea. Also, the average direction cannot be obtained that way and must still be calculated from the monthly log file data.

Thanks for the clarification. The Dominant Wind Direction for each day is populated in the NOAA Report from the Dayfile but I assume you are referring to the overall average wind direction for the month which needs to be obtained from the monthly log file data. Is that correct?
