Probably an example of brain fade on my part, but:
Having a weather station I'm often asked how much rain have we had this month/year etc. If I go to the data log viewer and select a date range, then go to the last entry (numbered in the thousands) and view the column labelled 'rainfall so far' then I'd expect the value to be the total for the selected date range. But it's not
I guess what I'm asking is how to get a total rainfall figure for a given date range? I'm sure I'm missing something but what?Thanks in advance!

I'm not sure why you would expect the values in the log files to change based on the range of dates you are viewing? The values are fixed to what is in the file(s).

This Month, and This Year rainfall is shown on the "Now" page of the dashboard.

For artibitary ranges there is no way of automatically summing that up for you. The NOAA reports will show the totals for each month though.

For ad-hoc queries you'd need the data in a database or spreadsheet to do it easily.

Ah,well it's probably because I read the heading 'rainfall so far' and came to the (erroneous) conclusion it meant rainfall so far - as in an accumulated total. I understand the log values are fixed but thought (because I wanted it to be so) that some columns might be calculated. Having asked the question I now know that not to be the case.

Wunderground (linked from Ecowitt.net) also gives me monthly totals.
