Ecowitt Http (HP2551) Wind Settings

From build 3044 the development baton passed to Mark Crossley. Mark has been responsible for all the Builds since. He has made the code available on GitHub. It is Mark's hope that others will join in this development, but at the very least he welcomes your ideas for future developments (see Cumulus MX Development suggestions).

Ecowitt Http (HP2551) Wind Settings

Post by Grouper »

I just wanted to double check that the wind settings are correct for my station as it looks like there have been some CMX changes in this area since it was installed. I have searched the release notes (notably 3.14.2 b3162 & 3.17.0 b3184) and the forum but it wasn't clear what the latest settings should be.

I'm currently running 3.28.3 b3280.

Station Settings -> Common Options -> "Calculate average wind speed" = ticked
Station Settings -> Common Options -> Advanced Options -> "Use wind speed for average calculation" = ticked

Note that release note for b3162 said :-
"If you run a GW1000 or HTTP Ecowitt station, after install please check the option Station Settings -> Common Options -> "Use wind speed for average calculation" is NOT ticked."

release note for b3184 said :-
"The Ecowitt stations now force the "Speed for average calc" option to be enabled at start-up"

Hope you can confirm that my current settings look OK as they seem to be giving reasonable results.

Thanks.

They look correct - later versions of CMX force the correct settings for your station at start-up
