(Note that 4.1.0 (build 4024) - 05 June 2024 remains available, but usage of this version is not recommended - particularly for Davis stations - and the included utility in this distribution for migrating to v4 is known to contain errors affecting conversion of dayfile.txt)
Legacy Cumulus 1 release 1.9.4 (build 1099) - 28 November 2014
(a patch is available for 1.9.4 build 1099 that extends the date range of drop-down menus to 2030)

From build 3044 the development baton passed to Mark Crossley. Mark has been responsible for all the Builds since. He has made the code available on GitHub. It is Mark's hope that others will join in this development, but at the very least he welcomes your ideas for future developments (see Cumulus MX Development suggestions).
I have the new automated Raspberry Pi Imager installed and it uploads to an external website.
I have been wondering for some time to see a red warning light on for web upload and a corresponding one for new record.
The lamp with the red light does not go away even if I do an upload. First when I stop cumulux mx with the command: "sudo systemctl stop cumulusmx" and then "sudo systemctl start cumulusmx"
Can someone give me an explanation why I have to do this and why cumulusmx doesn't automatically restart.
I also wonder why cumulusMX does not have the option to show an error log that might provide an explanation.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
When you are looking at the Dashboard, click on Utils, then click on Latest Errors, that should show why the web upload is failing? Or another way is to have a look in the MXdiags folder, and have a look at the logs.
I hope this information helps to sort out what is causing your errors. You might need to contact your hosting company, about the problem you are having.

I could only see the last errors on the server log, and nothing about this ftp error.
Previous options to set extra logging on ftp transfers from CumulusMX - I can't seem to find these? - don't they exist anymore?
The file realtimegauges.txt is transferred 5,760 times a day to my web server.
Is it correctly understood that a single failure to transfer the file realtimegauges.txt results in a red light for Web Update on the Dashboard and that the light is only deleted after a restart of CumulusMX ?
Look at the Alarm Settings, specifically the Latch setting and Threshhold.
The default is 24hrs and 0 occurrences. This means if it happens once in 24 hrs the Alarm is set and doesn't release until 24hrs has occured. It will then release and set again on the next occurrence.
You can play with these settings. A latch of 1hr means the Alarm will release after 1 hour. A Threshold of 10 means the Alarm will only occur once it has happened 10 times. Therefore you can set both of these to values that means you are getting a correct Alarm for your upload failing.

Using these examples if you set a Latch of 1Hr and a Threshold of 2 the Alarm would only occur if you had two upload failures within an hour.
Thanks David
That was good information you gave me. There are of course many such adjustment possibilities that I and others do not find due to language difficulties.
Thanks again for the information.
