I watch the screen of CumulusMX every day. Everything functions well, including the wind speed. See attachments.
However, recently I wanted to create a graph about the wind speed and wind gusts. To my surprise, no graph of the wind speed was created. As far as I have checked all the settings and searched the forum, I find no solution. Who guess again?

The log file was too large te send as an attachment. A shortened version was not accepted as an attachment. Hence a copy in this field.
Does this provide any information? The windspeed remains at 0.3
I miss a value in the response from station: 'rdlv,9.4, ..?..,78.9,1009.2,6.0,267,115.60,203.76,146'.
This probably explains the comment in the latest error.docx.

Thanks, but I could really do with seeing a log file from the start - one that shows MX starting up as well.
Could you restart MX, then zip up the log file after it has run for half an hour and attach the zip. Thanks.

Hello Mark,
I stopped the CumulusMX program. Simultaneously loaded and restarted the new version 3.28.0 (build 3269). See 20231221-151040.txt file.
Then also loaded a new version of AI. For proper operation, CumulusMX had to be restarted again. After this second start of CumulusMX, the startup data is in this text file: 20231221-154524. The windspeed sticks to one vlue in the chart. The windspeed gauge works well.
I hope you can find the solution. In the past there were no problems with the chart.

Can you check that the following setting is enabled?
Settings > Station Settings > Common Options > Calculate average wind speed

The following setting has always been checked on enable: Settings > Station Settings > Common Options > Calculate average wind speed.
In the attachment another screenshot from December 21. On that day, the CumulusMX program stopped twice and restarted. At startup there is a reaction from the wind speed for a while. After that, the wind speed remains at constant value.
Take it easy with the answer. It's Christmas time now.

In the txt file the diagnostic text during the startup after loading the old version.
All is working. Probably you can find the reason why the graph of the windspeed is only one stright line in the newest version.
If you want I can check other, newer versions where the problem started.

First I have changed the older version (with no problems) to the new version. In the attachment the settings of station settings>common options>advanced options>use wind speed for average calculation.
And a new picture from the wind speed graph; after the change from the older version 3.25.0 b3241 to the newest version the windspeed is not registrated.

It's working again! See new chart. I've left out the check mark at station settings>common options>advanced options>speed for average Calc. Not only did I leave the checkmark unchecked, but I also stopped and restarted CumulusMX just to be sure.
It's just weird that it has always worked with the checkmark on and from the new update the checkmark has to be unchecked. After every update, I don't make any changes to the settings. You may have an explanation for yourself as to why this check mark needs to be unchecked now. I hope that more users will benefit from this, when they have experienced the same problem.

Great news!
There have been a number of changes to the way the wind data is handled lately - that setting now has a bigger role to play.
In the next build I have changed the Instromet station to automatically set those three parameters to their required values.
