CumulusMX crashing on Debian

From build 3044 the development baton passed to Mark Crossley. Mark has been responsible for all the Builds since. He has made the code available on GitHub. It is Mark's hope that others will join in this development, but at the very least he welcomes your ideas for future developments (see Cumulus MX Development suggestions).

CumulusMX crashing on Debian

Post by ahagadorn »

I have been running Cumulus for years with no issues, however recently it crashes after a few hours. Im not sure when i started, but most likely after a Debian or Cumulus update.

* Assertion: should not be reached at sgen-marksweep.c:1200
=================================================================
Native Crash Reporting
=================================================================
Got a SIGABRT while executing native code. This usually indicates
a fatal error in the mono runtime or one of the native libraries
used by your application.
=================================================================

That is the gist of the error dump.

I tried repairing the SQLite database but that didn't help. I don' know of anything else that has changed.

Cumulus MX 3.27.1 b3263
Debian 11.8

So far I can't figure it out, but since it will only run for a few hours before crashing, it's become pretty useless. Any help is appreciated.

Have you tried removing mono-complete and reinstalling it? Possibly a Debian update has reacted badly with the installed mono-complete. Talking of mono, what version do you have installed?

That's a good recent version. I would try completely uninstalling mono-complete and then reinstalling. It does some compilation during this process based on your system, so you can be sure of a clean install that is tailored to your system. Make sure you use the mono-complete package rather than any other, as that is the requirement.

Is the system running on a PC with hard disk or on an RPi from an SD card? And if so how old is that SD card?

Running mine on a headless Intel NUC with Ubuntu 22.04.3 LTS server edition. It's been very stable tbh.

Running mono 6.12 also. Never had that type of crash before.

Might be worth enabling debug and data logging and when it crashed grab the last mxdiag log and post here.

Is there any other errors in the mxdiag log when it crashed?
