Using two base units with a Davis Vantage Pro 2 doable?

Post by gwynethh »

Can I use two base stations to read data off the Vantage Pro 2 transmitter? I'd really like to get the new Davis color base station but I understand Davis will not release the API to allow second party data loggers with the color base station. We are thinking we could use the original monochromatic base station to feed Cumulus/MX via our WiFi module while using the new color base unit for eyeball reading.

Any hope of doing this?

Yes you can. I have two VP2 consoles plus the new WLC 6313 (color console). I use wifi loggers in the two VP2 consoles to upload data and connect to CumulusMX.

The Weatherlink Console is currently on a Black Friday special through this weekend.

Thanx. Now we can order the color unit while it is on sale!
