Re: lost sensor contact
I can go weeks without an errors then I get 20 errors within a few minutes. I just accept that occasionally contact will be lost for a short period. -- it seems to cause no problems

If you start getting 'flat-lined' data for your outdoor sensors, do you not want to know the reason for it?imike wrote:is there any point in that feature

Excuse me for saying so but.........imike wrote:so... just for get the errors

I would have thought the shear description of the error was a clear enough indication as to why it is a feature!
As Steve says, If your Graphs Flatlined or you stopped getting Data to your Cumulus display, Wouldnt you like to know WHY?
If it bothers you that much, Ask Steve to provide you with an old Beta that doesnt include this feature.
So far, this is the only complaint - MOST users appreciate its function.
I asked for Steve to include the Webtag for Sensor Contact Lost - As my site visitors would WANT to be NOTIFIED if they saw a Dashboard with Data that WASNT changing.
Im sorry, Ive read too many complaints of a similar nature on this forum in the last 4weeks and it annoys me when, Steve puts all his SPARE time into this project and it sometimes feels as if it is not appreciated.
If this post disappears, I wont be surprised.

Of course It's a useful, early warning feature.
I moved my outdoor sensors months ago and then Cumulus started telling me all the time that it had lost contact, which told me the sensors were too far away so I moved them back.
What I was trying to say was if this is a rare occurrence then ignore it -- lots of things can make it loose connection ocassionaly; electrical activity; you using a microwave; solar flares; alien invasions

This Only Applies to Fine Offset/Watson Stations!steve wrote:Which script?Arnie wrote:Steve Is this Webtag included in the script?
I have created a PHP Script which gives an output of weither sensor contact has been established or lost.
You will NEED to be uploading the Cumuluswebtags.php to your website to use this PHP Script.
Once you have uploaded this PHP Script to your website, you will need to add the following to your webpage:
<?php require_once ("./sensorcontact.php"); ?>
This will output: Sensor Contact Lost -- Sensor Contact Established
You can change the Output and Location of the Cumuluswebtags.php location, by simply editing the sensorcontact.php
You will need to rename the sensorcontact.txt file attached to sensorcontact.php
Enjoy -- Javascript Version on the way.........

Here is the Javascript Version.......
See attached........
You will NEED the page to be PROCESSED by Cumulus if it is not already!
I think....
Enjoy..
You can see a working example here... http://www.weeleyweatherstation.info/se ... ttest.html

With apologies to Jason
REMEMBER THIS IS ONLY FOR FINE OFFSET (Watson [sic]) STATIONS !!As above - only for use in xxxxT.htm files.
You can of course change the wording between "my text" to suit, if eg. you didn't want anything when "Sensors OK" - change to ""
Edit: spotted a ( too many in the code
- fixed
