Extra Sensors - another step - Records

Post by Dador »

I'm just thinking,
CMX can already log data from extra sensors, it can draw graphs of extra sensors, wouldn't the next good step be for CMX to start using logs and introduce, for example, saving records, as is the case for basic sensors?

Creating Max and Min statistics (daily, monthly, yearly) for each selected extra sensor.

Ecowitt stations may have dozens of sensors. Davis also has many of them. The Davis+Ecowitt combination makes the number of monitored values really large. A good solution would be for these additional sensors (sometimes more important than the main one) to have more data analysis options than currently.

True, again the data will eat up a lot of hard drive memory, but is this a problem nowadays? At all.

Not going to happen in near future. As you say there are so many extra sensors it would be huge piece of work and a big over head in MX.

Better I think to analyse the data yourself. If you put it a MySQL database analysing it would be easy.

I would say the webtags already do a lot with the min/max and other things. You can use the Custom Logs to make your own coherent logs and chart those with the CustomLogs feature of CUtils (which you use). Then you can easily combine all sensors and webtags into your own modified charts to eventually get what you want.
