At 22:00 today ( the time of this post) is my 15th anniversary of running and logging Cumulus :o and posting this at exactly 15 years after starting Cumulus on 23/10/08 with first data at 22:00

My VP2 was started in 2008 with the first data logged in Weatherlink 25/07/08 4:00 pm and still going. I started uploading to WU at about the same time using the WU/WL upload tool.

After finding Cumulus in September 2008 I got Cumulus running at 23/10/08 22:00 and also still running so 15 years right now ...

The earlier data from Cumulus 1 has been added to my CumulusMX so it also has data since Oct. 23, 2008.
My current CMX data logs show 852,549 entries.

My Cumulus template website was started December 2008.

Thank you to so many who have helped me overf the years
Enjoy,
Paul

Well done Paul. I hope you haven’t had to replace too much of the original kit. My 15 years is next May. Fingers crossed my Samsung NC10 keeps going as long as I do. Still running the original Cumulus here. :D

My 15 year anniversary of running Cumulus v1 is today. A few hardware changes of course including a new fan and SSD in my Samsung NC10 but miraculously the PC itself continues to perform remarkably well running XP.

And a virtually continuous set of records over those 15 years only requiring manual intervention in December 2021 when a replacement ISS shared the same channel as the one it replaced causing the console to have a fit for a few days until the cause was established.

My congratulations to Steve in producing a great piece of software that has stood the test of time. My thanks too to the members here who have assisted me over the years with the aspects of software beyond my comprehension.

Here’s to many more years of weather stats collection and reliable hardware! :D

Well done Ray, you and Paul must be the longest known users?

Thanks Simon and Mark. It didn't seem like it at the time. I'd look 5 years younger if it wasn't the stress of worrying about components or hardware failing. ;)

You're not far behind. Spring 2010 was it?

Since June 2, 2008 when it looks like the current forum was first set up by Steve to replace a previous, of the first 100 members 9 have been active in 2024, with the oldest Paul C who joined June 19th and Stuart (broadstairs) who joined Aug 14th. That Class of '08 which had 218 members also included the betejuice (Dec 9). And a year or so later... but being the best of them all following in Steve's footsteps and claiming to be a noobie

First post, so first things first - thanks to Steve for a great bit of software. My Wh1090 should arrive this week...
Enjoy,
Paul

Thanks Paul. Where did all those years go? My brother died in the June and bequeathed his Honda Civic to me. I still have it. Would be hard to let it go.

Hard to imagine Mark being a noobie!

Yeah I've been running my site about 10 years now though not on cumulusmx at the start.

I just passed 20 years running my other website last month. I just can't get my head around so much time had past by. Been fighting with deprecated plugin code for the last couple of weeks. Finally got it sorted now and I'm now targeting malicious bots hitting both sites.

It just never ends......

My first communication with Steve Loft was 1st August 2008 when he said he was just starting on cumulus 2. Not sure when I first started using Cumulus 1 as I moved and reset all the data from 2017. I would have installed my first wh1081 sometime earlier.
