Ecowitt - no wind direction during calm

Hi,

I noticed that CMX does not provide wind direction during calm periods on the website.
There is a direction in degrees, but no letter marking. At Davis Station it works, at Ecowitt it doesn't.
In the program on the computer, everything is ok.

I have the same settings for both stations.

If there is no wind speed then there cannot be a direction. In the meteorological world the "special" bearing of 0 degrees is reserved for the wind direction when there is no wind speed.

True, the Davis station will indicate on the display which direction the vane is pointing in - but it is meaningless without any movement of the air past it.

There is also a station setting in MX to use zero for calm - by default it is enabled to comply with the "norm".

If you have on mind

Settings -> Station settings -> Common options -> Zero Bearing

then I have it disabled for Davis and Ecowitt.

This matter is nothing serious. I'm simply reporting an inaccuracy in the presentation of the data.

If it is calm for the whole of the average period, then MX cannot calculate an average direction.

The MX average direction is a vector calculation of the wind velocities, if they are zero then the average direction will be zero.

The station does not supply an average direction.

Sorry,
the confusion was caused by my oversight.
I had the wrong tags on the website. It's interesting that I didn't notice it for a long time :bash: .
On the CMX side, everything works fine.
