Pressure not uploading via CWOP-APRS

Hi All,
Been using CMX for a long while now, basic setup Vantage Pro 2, VirtualVP and then Weatherlink alongside CMX. Everything runs fine, uploads to multiple external sites. The only issue I have is the pressure is not uploaded via CWOP (or APRS) as shown here.
https://aprs.fi/weather/a/M0MST-4
Sadly a few weeks ago the hard disk used on the PC failed and I lost all of my config, settings and database. Since the pressure issue has always been an issue I thought a fresh install and setup would solve the issue, sadly not.
Any ideas on why the pressure is not uploading to CWOP?
Thanks in advance,

Hi,
Have you checked the MXdiags to see if it includes all the data including pressure.
Code: Select all
2023-09-09 00:54:03.756 Sending: FW2530>APRS,TCPIP*:@090454z4257.60N/08126.28W_000/000g000t057r000p000P000h86b10189L000eCumulusDsVP
2023-09-09 09:00:03.446 Sending: FW2530>APRS,TCPIP*:@091300z4257.60N/08126.28W_081/001g004t058r000p000P000h87b10200L063eCumulusDsVP
Enjoy,
Paul

Thanks for reply Paul, no APRS packet send from CMX is as below.
Code: Select all
2023-09-10 21:00:24.952 Sending: M0MST-4>APRS,TCPIP*:@102000z5202.80N/00200.03W_155/001g003t070r000p001P001h81b00000eCumulusDsVP
All other external services is sends with no issues at all, and this is a fresh install, very strange.

Hi,
Code: Select all
2023-09-10 21:00:24.952 Sending: M0MST-4>APRS,TCPIP*:@102000z5202.80N/00200.03W_155/001g003t070r000p001P001h81b00000eCumulusDsVP
And then your data detail at
http://www.findu.com/cgi-bin/raw.cgi?call=M0MST-4 with b00000 for pressure
Code: Select all
M0MST-4>APRS,TCPIP*,qAC,CWOP-6:@101955z5202.80N/00200.03W_155/001g004t071r000p001P001h81b00000eCumulusDsVP
M0MST-4>APRS,TCPIP*,qAC,CWOP-7:@102000z5202.80N/00200.03W_155/001g003t070r000p001P001h81b00000eCumulusDsVP
But, if I have your sites correct, pressure is uploaded correctly to your website (WL.com), WU, WC, PWS, and WL accounts so your CMX settings must be correct.
Since the pressure issue has always been an issue I thought a fresh install and setup would solve the issue, sadly not.
Is it only the pressure in updating CWOP/APRS that has been the issue, and has it ever worked?
This may be one for Mark to comment on.
Enjoy,
Paul

Hi Paul,
Worked a few years ago, only really noticed last few months it had stopped via APRS only,
https://app.weathercloud.net/d0533278984#profile
https://www.pwsweather.com/station/pws/BREDONHILL
https://www.wunderground.com/dashboard/pws/IASHTONU3
As you can see all of the above services, Pressure has never been an issue,
The fresh install I hoped would sort it, but no such luck
Thanks
Dan

Hi,
Sorry,. I have no other thoughts on why everything works except the pressure not going to third-party CWOP. Hopefully someone else may have a thought!
Enjoy,

Just further, enabling WXNOW in CMX also produces no pressure

Not sure if its a settings or a bug in CMX now.

Could you switch on debug and data logging for a few minutes, then post the latest MXdiags file please?

Thanks, that confirms the cause. Your station is not sending any LOOP2 data when MX requests it. The LOOP2 packet contains the station pressure which is used to calculate the altimeter pressure used by APRS etc.
First thing I would try is a full power reset of your console and logger. Batteries out, power disconnected for a few minutes, then power up again.
If you cannot get the station to send the LOOP2 responses, then the only other option is to go into CMX Station settings- Davis Advanced settings and disable the LOOP2 option. This will then force MX to use the SLP for Altimeter pressure. Not idea, but at least it will send something.

Thanks Mark, would it have anything to do with using VirtualVP to connect CMX to the console?

Ah! Yes, I missed that, Virtual VP does not support LOOP2 as I understand it.

I used to use this with my VP (until I retired it). Yes Mark you are correct and the author is no longer contactable so support is unavailable.

Thanks all for replies
I am getting around it as I also use weatherlink for the website feature, I have the addon for that generating an WXNOW.txt file and then using APRSIS32 to add a weather object to APRS. Its a bit long winded but works whilst we still need weather link and not able to use CMX on its own.
