Yes, I'm posting my data on Ecowitt.net and I have already set up the Application Key and the API Key in my User Profile and then put in the Ecowitt Data Access API in the Station Settings together with Ecowitt MAC address.
So if CMX automatically retrieves the history with Ecowitt it's fantastic.
Last question: is it possible to install CMX on the cloud and to setup Ecowitt WS to send data to CMX installed in a cloud space in order to have always also the possibility to connect in remote?

Not possible because CumulusMX has no built in security, therefore anybody could access your settings etc. and alter them. So it should always be on your local network and pass data through it's various facilities to a hosted web site.

Basically you are right about the security issues and that there is not a ”plug’n’play” solution to run cumulus safely on a public network.

But if you buy a dedicated virtual machine from the cloud, usually you can also setup a firewall in front of it, and therefore control who and where can access it. Of course it would be quite tricky, since usually your home network’s public ip address changes, and therefore also the traffic from the console to CMX would be seen from different address and easily blocked if it was firewalled by ip on the cloud. Of course also there are possibilities like running a reverse proxy and restricting console urls from public access, also you could use some vpn solutions, ssh tunneling or something similar to restrict the access. But definitely it is not an easy choice and one must really understand quite a lot about how the traffic flows, what security issues are and how those can be mitigated.

More simple solution: is it possibile to insert a password to CMX dashboard page? If yes I can reach the page with port forwarding and noip.com service

Currently it is not possible to password protect the dashboard, so you would need a reverse proxy server for password protection.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I don't know how to do it. A reverse proxy server could be https://www.haproxy.org/ ?

Unfortunately that is not my expertise either, but it seems that you could use acl’s on HAProxy to filter url paths. I think that generally HAProxy is more often used as a load balancer between several backend servers, and that peope use Apache if they want to control how the backend is accessed.

Another solution would be put your home network on a VPN. This is what I do, but I have several devices within the home network (plus a router) that is able to do this. It's typically the easiest solution. Especially if you have a router that supports this. All that needs done is to set up credentials to restrict access.
