Cumulus Support

Hi. I have Ecowitt HP2551. Because it has no batteries i consider having UPS. In summer and winter here is power cuts so the console can't receive data then. Any idea what kind of UPS is best? I guess it only needs to power the Ecowitt console, not necessary the computer which runs Cumulus.

Providing power only for the console is only a partial solution. If your wifi network goes down, the data can’t go to ecowitt.net, and therefore Cumulus cannot do catch-up when the computer starts again and data will be lost. So besides the console, you also would need to power up your wifi router, cable modem, fiber switch or whatever your necessary network components are.

Personally I have found APC UPS’s to be most reliable in consumer grade.
