Cumulus Support

All of a sudden this strange issue appears, Cumulus MX 3245 and Davis Vantage Pro 2 +.

At midnight, every night from a couple of days, Cumulus MX stops receiving data and I cannot access the usual web interface at port 8998 as "connection closed". Nor does it sends data via MQTT to Home Assistant. A restart if Cumulus solves everything until next midnight.

Don't even know where to start looking or what to do. Suggestions highly appreciated.

Switch on debug (and perhaps data) logging, leave to run over midnight. This will gather evidence in the form of detailed log files. The log files are to be found in the "MXdiags" folder in your MX installation. Once you have captured a midnight stop/crash, then attach the log file covering the stop to a reply to this topic.

Thanks for your reply Freddie. These are my logs, Cumulus MX stopped at midnight again and I just closed the Cumulus window and took out the logs.
Hopefully you or someone else can take a look and maybe understand what's wrong. Thanks!

Weird. It looks like something happens to the network connection. First sftp connections fail and then also mqtt stops. Does the computer itself still have network access? For example can you open homeassistant from it? Does the Cumulus console open locally or from another device?

From the logfile I can’t tell could this be an internal issue of Cumulus, maybe Mark could say more.

Also I noticed that you did not have debug logging enabled. Also ftp log might give some additional info. Of course these won’t give any help if the issue is with the computer losing its connection.

Thank you very much for your reply. I will investigate further, and this last night was the first night that Cumulus MX did work as usual. Let's see what happens tonight again.

Ended up with doing a complete and fresh install of Cumulus MX, keeping observations from the old version. Seems to work for the moment.
