What a difference a year makes!

Post by Nottub »

This time last year (19th July) we here at Calverton (Notts) UK, recorded our hottest day at 40.2c. 😎

What a contrast, as today we have been mainly cloudy with some light rain showers and a maximum of just 20.3c.☂

Whilst it is very warm/ hot in many european contries, I quite like these cooler conditions.

38.7°C on this day in 2022. It remains my all-time record.

A very pleasant 20.8°C today. Don’t you just love British weather.

Just as Forrest Gump says “Weather is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re going to get. :D
Cheers,

Many years ago, yes. Not now though.

It's become boring as blocking patterns have become more prevalent.

The jet stream being buckled has left the UK in a trough for the entire month, with no real signs of improvements.

Spring was horrendously cloudy with a nagging easterly wind. It's either very wet and cloudy, or bone dry and very cloudy. June has been the only exception this year.

As a weather enthusiast, I find our weather has become increasingly boring.
