Hostpresto server migration

Post by Mapantz »

Did anyone get the email regarding the server migration?

It said "Your account will be offline for a few minutes"

Mine has been gone an hour, and I am now getting redirected to another address and none of my credentials work.

My site just stopped working at 5:30 this morning and I sent them a ticket at 7:15 still waiting for a reply.
No advance warning of potential problems. Seems like users/customers are just a nuisance.

They host my website. I’ve had no email and my site is running as normal.
Cheers,

I am getting the following error on MXDiags log

Inner Exception...
Exception Type: System.ObjectDisposedException
Message: Cannot access a disposed object.
Object name: 'MobileAuthenticatedStream'.

The site is just about creaking on but is very slow.

From where I stand your site seems running normal.

My site was down for 8 hours.
Ridiculous when they said it would be a few minutes.

Good to see they are on top of customer support, no information prior to any major changes, just pick up the fallout after the event :groan:

Here is the message I received from them probably identifying an issue

Hi Andrew,
Thank you for contacting support.
A recent cPanel software update caused some server processes to consume more server resources than normal. This was causing slower performance than usual. Our engineers have resolved this and everything should now be ok.
Our apologies for any inconvenience in the meanwhile.

All I can say is, thank goodness for historical catch-up on CMX. I actually closed CMX when my site went down, so that I could do the historical catch-up when it came back. I didn't expect it to be 8 hours though! Quite a marked difference from the "Few minutes" that was sent in the email last week.

I have noticed that my site is running faster, which is nice.

You're probably hosted on a lower tier.

This was for Giga hosting.

What’s Giga? Uploads every 5 seconds?

I've just copied this over from another thread:

2023-06-15 12:09:21.858 PHP[100]: Error uploading to realtime.xml - Exception Type: System.Threading.Tasks.TaskCanceledException
Message: A task was canceled.
Those errors in the diag files were never a problem, and they were to be expected when using the PHP upload process. I only got 2 or 3 of them per hour, which is perfectly normal, and caused no issues.

Since the server migration on my hosting, I haven't had a single error message since I restarted CMX at 8am.
