Hello everyone!
I've just moved from weewx to CumulusMX.
The whole process was pretty straight forward and I'm really happy to see my weather station live again.
https://www.starhouse-observatory.org/c ... /index.htm
Two issues: the Cloud Base gauge is incorrect. My elevation is 4160 feet--the cloud base at this point is reported to be at 2100 feet and that cannot be right. If I switch the units to meters it drops to 640 so it isn't that something got crossed. The reported Dew Point appears to be accurate.
Secondly, (and this maybe should be a separate post), I have several years worth of data from weewx in an sqlite3 database and that is also available from Weather Underground. Searching for how to import data into CumulusMX so far hasn't turned up a simple method. Maybe I just missed it and if so I'd appreciate a pointer.
Thanks,
Jeff Ross

Re: New installation--cloud base gauge incorrect
The cloudbase figure is the height above ground level.
It is only a guess anyway, based on the standard lapse rate.
As for the weewx data conversion, I haven't heard of anything and MX does not have the ability to do it.
The minimum required is to creation of the dayfile which is just a CSV with the daily records in it.
Though if you can create the monthly log files - again just a CSV - then that gives more functionality, and you can create the day file from those logs using the Create Missing utility.
As a one off, I'd probably look at exporting the weewx data to CSV, import that into a spread sheet program, manipulate it there, and export to MX format files.

Re: New installation--cloud base gauge incorrect
Thanks! That makes sense for Cloud Base!
It will be no problem to get monthly CSV files -- I'll get started on that.

Weather Underground Import to CumulusMX
Download daily data from Weather Underground using the excellent https://github.com/Karlheinzniebuhr/the-weather-scraper (see README for instructions)
Open MS Excel and import the data from file above with: Data > From Text/CSV
Make sure Column A has the right Date setting (dd/mm/yy)
Transform Column B in 24h format with Number format Time > mm:ss
Swap Column D and E (make Column D as Column E and Column E as D) Select Column E, cut (Ctrl X) select Column D and right click Insert Copied Cells
Swap Column F, G and H:
Select Column G and H, cut (Ctrl X), select Column F and right click Insert Copied Cells
Select Column H without 1st row, Copy and paste in a new sheet and use function XLOOKUP to transform text value in degrees value, copy result and paste as value back to Column H
Select Column J and K, cut (Ctrl X), select Column I and right click Insert Copied Cells
Select Column L and right click Insert, repeat 5 times till you have Column R and S
Delete First row(row 1, the one with the headers)
Save file as CSV UTF-8 in CumulusMX/data directory with title yyyymmlog (ex 202411log)
Rename suffix of saved file from csv to txt (ex from 202411log.csv to 202411log.txt) (you will need to close MS Excel beforehand)
In CumulusMX use CreateMissing.exe to update your Dayfile.txt data (beforehand make sure you update your settings in CumulusMX: Menu Settings > Station Settings > Advanced Options > Record Began Date)
In CumulusMX use CreateRecords.exe (separate download from https://github.com/cumulusmx/CreateRecords) to update your Records data (alltime.ini, month.ini, monthlyalltime.ini, year.ini)
