Website Hosting question

I've been paying GoDaddy around $110/year to host my website running MX but it's just too much now. I've been looking into other hosting companies but one I contacted yesterday said they likely couldn't host mine because they said their Linux servers likely wouldn't play well with my Windows based site. First of all, is $110 a reasonable and expected annual cost for hosting a very basic website? Seems like there are less expensive options out there. Can anyone suggest any and is it easy to transfer my domain as well?

Thanks,

Mike

Not knowing where you are it's difficult but I think that's a bit high. Here in th UK I use Krystal and it's about £50 a year (UK Pounds).

I pay £144 a year for mine, but I also use my hosting for various other things, including a gallery. It's running on some pretty decent hardware, and everything is unlimited.

I’ve been using HostPresto for several years now and they’ve been great. I pay around 26GBP per annum. Here’s their packages. UK-based.

Thanks for responses. Mine does seem high compared to those. I'm in the US.
