FTP errors

From build 3044 the development baton passed to Mark Crossley. Mark has been responsible for all the Builds since. He has made the code available on GitHub. It is Mark's hope that others will join in this development, but at the very least he welcomes your ideas for future developments (see Cumulus MX Development suggestions).

FTP errors

Post by grwkak »

Recently - started maybe June 1st. I have seen these types of errors in my logs:

2023-06-03 05:51:31.162 FTP[153]: Error uploading public_html/realtimegauges.txt : Error while uploading the file to the server. See InnerException for more info.
2023-06-03 05:51:31.163 FTP[153]: Inner Exception: Timed out trying to read data from the socket stream!

Thats one example - often its the realtime.txt file.

I had installed b3245 and thought maybe that was the issue - so I rolled back to b3244 but no difference.

Any idea what this is - the files do appear to have successfully FTPed.

I don’t think that timeout errors are related to that bug with ftp logging. But if the ftp logging is enabled, I personally would suggest turning it off anyway unless it is currently needed for debugging.

@grwkak is the issue present only on realtime.txt and realtimegauges.txt (and possible other extra files) that have realtime interval enabled? Or do the timeouts occur on all files randomly? This possibly could be an issue on the ftp server itself or on your network connection. Rebooting your own router is also always a thing to try, when experiencing intermittent connection issues, that occur from out of the blue without any changes to anything.

FTP logging is not enabled - I did for a short time this morning to see if I could see anything - nothing stood out.

It does appear the files affected are realtime interval files.

Let me try the router reboot.

Interesting - turns out the server had insufficient disk space - at least according to another error message on my Meteobridge system and tech support when I asked for help. The same error started appearing in my CMX logs. I will monitor and see if that resolves my other FTP messages on CMX(?).
