Hi
I recently rebooted by internet modem. Previously, CumulusMx ran at 192.168.20.2 - and all was good. after rebooting the modem, my station IP now is 192.168.20.4, but cumulus still runs at the old IP.
How do I tell CumulusMx what IP my station is at. Have attached console log and cumulus ini files.
Thanks

Re: Ambient WS2000 IP address
Best way to do this is to go into your modem/router and reserve the address in DHCP so that whatever happens to your router DHCP will always allocate the same IP address. If you do it any other way you cannot guarantee that a reboot of your modem/router will not allocate a totally different IP address again.

Re: Ambient WS2000 IP address
That seems a bit radical. So CumulusMx cannot be told what IP to use? Perhaps we need another config item in settings.

Re: Ambient WS2000 IP address
There must be some misunderstanding here. From the serviceconsole log you can see that cumulus has been configured to use startup ping to 192.168.20.4 (probably the ambient station console ip address?), and after receiving a succesful result it reports that Cumulus is running at 192.168.20.2 (the ip of the windows computer). So for me it seems that Cumulus is (and probably always has) been running on .2, and the station is at .4 so all is as expected and there is nothing that shoud be adjusted via settings.rons47 wrote: ↑Sun 21 May 2023 11:47 am Hi

Re: Ambient WS2000 IP address
No, if you want to keep the same IP address then CumuluxMX isn't what you configure. You need to make the device you're running CMX on retrieve a static IP. My guess is yours is set to use DHCP. You can do it one of two possible ways. Make the ip static on the machine, or use DHCP/MAC address reservations like I do.
