Good Day! I've noticed a little glitch on my instance of MX regarding daily wind run. Occasionally, I'll find that the CumulusMX service has stopped running or failed to start upon Windows 11 restarting. When I reactivate the service, sometimes I'll see that the wind run reading will pick up from an astronomical number. For example, today when I restarted the service It reads 1159nm as today's wind run and logged it as a new record. That would suggest nearly 48 knots of average wind for 24 hours which we certainly did not get. The highest gust on that day was only 19 and highest average was 5.2. Anyone else seeing this?

Re: Bug Report - Daily Wind Run
Could you please supply a log file that covers a restart? Log files are in the MXdiags subdirectory of your CumulusMX installation. Please zip up and attach the log to a reply to this topic.

I've attached the file that did it to me this morning. There have been other instances but I don't recall the days. The day in question is May 19th of this year.

Re: Bug Report - Daily Wind Run
OK, it is a bug that occurs when you have a gap in the archive data in the station logger.
On the 19th, the last data CMX had received from the station was on 5/10/2023 7:01:00 PM, the oldest available data in the logger was from 5/19/2023 11:58:00 AM. So, a 10-day gap in the data.
MX had calculated the wind run as if the wind speed had been blowing constantly for those missing 10 days. That needs fixing.
However, if you are going to have MX stopped for prolonged periods, then I'd suggest you increase the logging interval, so you don't lose lots of data.
