Forecast "stuck"?

The weather has changed from snow to sunny a few times, as has the "Tendency" window on my console. Still, my cumulus forecast remains "Exceptional Weather, Stormy, much precipitation". When initially installed back around Dec. 26th, the forecast did vary.
One thing I did do (contrary to the warning) was exit out of Cumulus, open EasyWeather, change my barometer setting from hpa to inches, then exit Easyweather and restart Cumulus about the time this happened. So, not only do I have a record high of 1015.10 inches at 8:00 AM on 29 December 2009, I think I messed up the forecasting. Should I just uninstall and start over or is there a file to poke around in to fix it?
Thanks for any help!

Hi Roger, and welcome to the forum
Oh dear, I assume you changed the unit in Cumulus too? Changing the unit of measure is a sin!!
You will need to shut down Cumulus and modify (poke) a few files!
dayfile.txt
the Monthly log files.
Formats are here...
http://wiki.sandaysoft.com/index.php?ti ... :Log_Files
You will also need to edit your All time records in Cumulus....Click Edit, All Time Records (this is the only file you should edit while Cumulus is running; all the others need Cumulus closed FIRST)
today.ini & yesterday.ini possibly, but probably not if you changed your settings more than a day ago
If you need any specific help just ask. Good luck

Forecast 'fix' (maybe)
Let me guess ...
In Cumulus / station settings - Forecast, you checked the "in" box but didn't change the figures ?
If that is the case you can either just tick "mb" again, (Cumulus will work it out I think), or you need to enter the "inch" range values !

Showing my ignorance here, what would those default values be?
(EDIT - Found the conversion properties myself at weatherfaqs.org.uk. Works out to 28.0535 lo and 31.0065 hi if anyone with the same problem searches and finds this post).
Yes, beteljuice, all I did was choose the "in" radio button after making the settings changes. I'll be checking the url daj sent.

Roger,
you mentioned that Cumulus forecasts did not vary.
The Zambretti forecast used by Cumulus is very sensitive to the min/max values you specify in the lower right hand corner of the Cumulus station settings page.
So with you switching back and forth between inches and mbs I am not surprised that Cumulus gets confused: what with pressure measured in inches and the forecast min/max being 950/1050 (the default)?

Well, dayfile.txt was an easy fix, just converting the pressure in a few lines of the file. However the monthly file for December had four days (over 1500 records) that would need changing, so I just renamed the Dec09log.txt file to something else and hoped Cumulus wouldn't need it.
Currently the "Records" portion of the website states I have records back to December 26, and shows some from December, so I'm not sure where those are coming from, but the record for the highest pressure is not the 1000+ inches it was previously, so I guess I may have gotten things squared away for now.
Thanks for the direction, let me know if there is anything else I should be checking. It's great finding this group of folks.

Of course it needs it -- some of your graphs come from that
some from December, so I'm not sure where those are coming from
as I noted earlier

....
You will also need to edit your All time records in Cumulus....Click Edit, All Time Records

Geeze, no one's going to look at those, are they? <g>
I think I've taken care of everything mentioned... The forecast has changed a couple of times and actually seems correct. I haven't seen anything strange on the web pages or noticed any smoke coming out of the computer, so perhaps I'm safe for now.
I certainly won't be tinkering with the setup again any time soon.
