The Start value doesn't necessarily correspond to any particular total, but yes, unless it's been reset in the station, you would normally expect it to be higher than your monthly (and indeed annual) total. But what you've said is completely correct; if you are showing 4.2 mm of rain today, and you want to be showing zero, add 4.2 to the Start value.daj wrote:Start -- take the amount of rain shown in 'today' in cumulus and add it to the Start value. I think you have 4.2mm today so add 4.2 to 7.19999980926514. So start=11.39999980926514
Having said all that I am confused as you have had 10.8mm rains this month so I would have expected Start to have been at least that figure. Hold off until Steve has a look at this post. thanks

Re: Best location for weather sensors
Thanks, that has sorted the issue out... just shows as 6.6mm total for the month and year. Out of curiosity, how do you clear all values for rainfall ?daj wrote:
Close down Cumulus
Take a backup of today.ini
Change High to 0.0
Change HTime to 00:00
Start -- take the amount of rain shown in 'today' in cumulus and add it to the Start value. I think you have 4.2mm today so add 4.2 to 7.19999980926514. So start=11.39999980926514

You still have a few rouge pieces of data; look at your graphs for a clues.
Previous days Highs & Lows Temperature is way off the scale -- check the dayfile for the entry on 7th January and edit the Highs !
You have a rainfall rate of 40+mm/hr today -- check the Jan10Log file just after 14:00 today
All the file formats are here & always keep copies before you change them!
