Migrate old data

From build 3044 the development baton passed to Mark Crossley. Mark has been responsible for all the Builds since. He has made the code available on GitHub. It is Mark's hope that others will join in this development, but at the very least he welcomes your ideas for future developments (see Cumulus MX Development suggestions).

Migrate old data

Post by raflec »

Is there anyone who can take me through step by step (an idiot guide) the procedure of transferring my data from cumulus to cumulusMX.
I have followed the steps on wiki but it does not work.
I am pretty sure it will be me who is placing the files in the wrong areas.
Much appreciate anyone who can take their time to help me through the steps.
Many thanks in advance.

You may think you followed the steps but my bet is you forgot to set the start date in CumulusMX to the original start date of the data you brought across from Cumulus 1 or you did not bring the Cumulus 1 Cumulus.ini file across just the data.

No there is something I am missing.
When you first stat CumulusMX it says there is no archive data.

If it was me, after unzip the latest CumulusMX I would copy in the full \data and \Reports folder from Cumulus 1, and also Cumulus.ini (change to 'Cumulus' if your Cumulus 1 file still had lower case 'cumulus').
Run CumulusMX and then (presumably it will run) go through ALL the Settings, maybe do the Wizard first to get all the basic stuff correct.

Enjoy,
Paul
