Cumulus Support

All, new to CMX and an Orange Pi. Wanted to move my Davis Vue (USB logger) from old iMAC and WeatherSnoop3 to new Orange Pi 3 LTS. Using Orangepi3-lts_3.0.6_debian_bullseye_desktop_xfce_linux5.16.17 OS. Followed instructions on how to download and set up mono and install CMX. When starting CMX, it shows connected to station, downloading archive data and Normal running. However, I can only see 0 for data on dashboard and gauges. Same thing when I look at Now, Today/Yesterday pages. All 0's. It just does not appear to be talking to the Davis VantageVue console.

I looked at the FAQ regarding displaying all 0, but do not really understand what might be the issue. Have tried both on localhost:8998 and external MacBook, same results. The web page shows triangles next to last Cumulus update and last station update.

Any help would be appreciated and please remember, I am new to this and new to programming.

I think the first step is to upload your most recent log file. This can be found in the "MXdiags" folder in the place on your computer where you installed MX.

Attached is the log file. Do I need to install a driver to make this work? On the mac, I had to install a CP210x USB to UART driver. I didn't see any mention of that when I was looking at install instructions.

Have you switched your USB logger into serial mode? You must do that using the Windows WeatherLink software afaik. That step has to be done for CMX to read your logger,

Thank you. My USB logger is from Davis. How do you switch it? I cannot find any information in my documentation from Davis.

Thank you. I guess I need to find a windows computer to use. I have Apple products and this has never been an issue because the MAC has a CP210x driver to use that converts from USB to a virtual port. I was thinking there might be something for Linux, as most of what I have read says it is built in.

Once the data logger has been set up as USB direct, it cannot be easily converted to
emulate a serial port connection within the software. A utility is included with the
WeatherLink software that allows you to convert it from a direct USB data logger to a
USB data logger that emulates the COM port. To use this utility, select CP210X to Serial
Converter in your WeatherLink program group on the Start menu of your computer
(Start>AllPrograms>WeatherLink>CP210X to Serial Converter) and run the utility to
convert your data logger back to emulate a COM port.

What I noticed is that there is no /dev/USBx listed when I do a ls /dev/ttyUSB*

what does this command give you?
