Two CumulusMX on one computer Windows7

From build 3044 the development baton passed to Mark Crossley. Mark has been responsible for all the Builds since. He has made the code available on GitHub. It is Mark's hope that others will join in this development, but at the very least he welcomes your ideas for future developments (see Cumulus MX Development suggestions).

Two CumulusMX on one computer Windows7

Post by Waldi77 »

Thanks to your help, I have mastered almost everything I need from Cumulus.
I have one more question left. I read that you can install two CumulusMX on one computer. Can this be done on Windows 7 and if so, how do I change the port to something other than 8998 for the second installation.

This is covered in the wiki. Basically, you add the port number to the startup command, something like this:

Code: Select all

CumulusMX.exe -port 9999

Good point. Maybe the logic behind the second instance detection should check the port is the same too.

Windows uses a system wide mutex so no way of doing it with that. As Linux uses a lock file, that could use the port.
It would need Windows to switch using a lock file too.

A todo item.
