CUtils 6.16.0

Post by AndyKF650 »

Hi Hans

That update works for me, I like the minimum rain fall per month record especially since we seem to be in a low rainfall period.

Keep up the great work.

Thanks.
The minimum rainfall was your wish from a long time ago if I remember well ;)
All functional additions which were part of v7 have now been brought to version 6.

Now looking at the CustomLogs... :o :shock: :? :roll:

Hans,
two quick things.

1. After adding LowestMonthlyRain I got a scroll that I don't want. Is it the fault of my template (standard for CMX) or css settings for top10Table? I hadn't had it before and was happy :) .

EDIT:
Ok, I found a solution. This record works fine for me:
before -

Code: Select all

border: 1px solid #b0b0b0; height: 80vh; overflow: auto;
after -

Code: Select all

border: 1px solid #b0b0b0; height: auto;
Where can I change it permanently? Because we know that the top10Table.txt file will be overwritten as usual.

2. I have been taking measurements for over a year, but I have only had a rain gauge since November 2022. That's why I always have zero rainfall in the previous months. Now because of this, I have false top 10 figures. Is it possible to specify the beginning of the period when utils will collect rain data?

This will be solved with the parameter UseScrollableTables which already exists for the DailyRecords report.

The next release it will be permanent also for the Top10. Give it some time... currently you can't change it permanently as you correctly conclude the top10 report will be overwritten with every generation (unless there is no record at all and using thrift).

I will release a patch awaiting a new full release, please find attached.

Yes, good point. I have been looking into this, not only for something like your issue, but also because starting somewhere random in a year gives a bias to any statistic you calculate. I am looking into using the Records Began Date (Station Settings=>General Settings=>Advanced Options) as the date to use for starting the reports and charts. This has also consequences for CMX (correctly I think). Maybe next release, maybe a propriety parameter (defaulted with the Records Began Date)... It is more elaborate than you think 8-)

@Dador: btw, can't you merge your C1 data to your CMX data so that you have full series for the rain and other sensors?

Let's not misunderstand: I am looking for the user to select a startdate for the data (all data) used by CUtils, NOT specifically for the rain data.
That will not happen, I don't see the use of a startdate per sensor.

Hans,

thank you, the patch solved my "problem" with the table ;)

Sure, your point of view is logical and understandable. I have no comments to that.

As far as I'm concerned, the CMX doesn't offer all that yet to ditch the C1. The direction of development is good, so I will probably do it in a while. CMX needs to offer me more options for extra sensors.

Thank you for your quick response and help.
