Wunderground update interval
After updating to the latest CMX, I notice that now my PWS in Wunderground is only updating every 5 minutes. Turning on CMX logging confirms that I am indeed sending updates to Wunderground every 1 minute. Did Wunderground change something to override the 1 minute update, or am I missing another setting somewhere within CMX (or Wunderground)?

Re: Wunderground update interval
I am working with a 15 min upload cycle for the 3rd party sites. My CUtils site provides fast realtime data at every 15 sec to give a clear view of current conditions. I am not too sure what extra utility is gained by trying to force Wunderground to receive every minute.

Re: Wunderground update interval
think when I did upload to WU it was set to 5 minutes. WU also supports "Rapid Fire" which uploads some data every 5 seconds.
WU show 5minutes (in brackets)

I stopped using WU many years ago since IBM took over and trashed the WU eco system and its staff. the service is pretty poor these days and even 5 years ago you even go a gold star for just uploading data even if the temp was like 20 degrees different than surrounding weather stations. it was just a joke with no quality control

Re: Wunderground update interval
So, no thoughts about why it switched to a 5-minute interval, despite my uploading every 1 minute? Surrounding stations are updating at 1-minute intervals, so I thought it (wunderground) was doing something.
What other weather aggregators are now recommended versus wunderground?

Re: Wunderground update interval
I've never known wunderground to show 1 minute data intervals. The graph data has always been 5 minutes for me, going right back to 2011.

Then I don't know what the gating factor is. Ours has always been 1 minute until I did the latest update (3221). It still uploads at the 1 minute interval, but the wunderground PWS shows 5 minutes.
I checked several other PWSs around us, and they are all pretty much at 1 minute intervals.

Are you talking about the graphs showing 1 minute intervals?GlueGuy wrote: ↑Mon 06 Feb 2023 7:04 pm Then I don't know what the gating factor is. Ours has always been 1 minute until I did the latest update (3221). It still uploads at the 1 minute interval, but the wunderground PWS shows 5 minutes.

Rapid fire is enabled on mine, that's just for the dashboard. Graph data has only ever shown 5 minute intervals, and does so on every single station I have saved for my area. 5 minutes is the minimum, as I do see 10 minutes on some.

Re: Wunderground update interval
I don't know about the graph update. I'm talking about the dashboard where it indicates the "Station Summary" online/offline and how long since the last update. This is how a neighbor's PWS shows (never goes above 1 minute):
.
.
.
Our PWS shows this (never goes below 4 minutes): .
.
.
I've turned RapidFire on and off, but it does not seem to make any difference.

Re: Wunderground update interval
From what I remember (I stopped send to WU a long time ago) rapid fire must be left on for quite a while before WU starts using it.

Re: Wunderground update interval
Then I will turn it on for a day or two to see if it changes anything, but as I said, I never had it turned on before and got the 1-minute update interval.
It appears that many are not happy with wunderground; what are ya'll using instead?

Re: Wunderground update interval
My preferences: windy.com, weathercloud (windguru, openweathermap second rang).
To me, these really are reciprocal i.e. they give something back.

Re: Wunderground update interval
Welp, here's what happened.
I turned on RapidFire, and left it running that way overnight. I checked it a couple of times during the first hour or so, and it stayed on the 5-minute update interval.
I checked it this morning, and it had finally transitioned to 5-second updates.
I then turned off RapidFire, and it is now back on the 1-minute update interval.
I will check it again, probably on an irregular basis to see if it reverts again to the 5-minute interval.
I also signed up for the (free so far, not "premium") station on Windy.com. Do you have to get premium to see the weather stations? None appear on the interface as far as I can tell.

Re: Wunderground update interval
I know crop stations turn up on windy as mine did. Though I do send direct to windy now.
You may need to wait a while to your station to appear.
