weatherflow one connection permitted?

From build 3044 the development baton passed to Mark Crossley. Mark has been responsible for all the Builds since. He has made the code available on GitHub. It is Mark's hope that others will join in this development, but at the very least he welcomes your ideas for future developments (see Cumulus MX Development suggestions).

weatherflow one connection permitted?

Post by kb0rpjwx »

Running weather-display and trying to running CumulusMX along side it, weather-display is set for only using UDP data

when i start CumulusMX i get a notice.. "only one usage of each socket address (protocol/network address/port) is normally permitted.

and i get no data from the station.

any idea how to fix this problem?

In general no - but it depends. To work it means both programs must be coded to open the port in a shared mode, this is not the default.

I have just looked at the CMX code for the Tempest (I did not write it), and it does not open the port in shared mode - I doubt WD does either.

EDIT: I'll add a TODO to change CMX to open the port in shared mode.
