Error connecting ftp

From build 3044 the development baton passed to Mark Crossley. Mark has been responsible for all the Builds since. He has made the code available on GitHub. It is Mark's hope that others will join in this development, but at the very least he welcomes your ideas for future developments (see Cumulus MX Development suggestions).

Your station is sending a lot of rubbish data which CMX is ignoring.

Indoor humidity = 170%
Wind gust = 385 m/s
Pressure = 828 hPa
Outside temperature = 2544 C!

Until valid data is coming through CMX will not be doing much.

I'd try a hard reset of your console - batteries and USB cable out for 10 minutes - and see if that improves things.

I think that the problem is not with the station because the station shows 14ºC and CumulusMX shows -2.5ºC.

I have made a Rpi update and upgrade. I installed the last mono version. Now the temperature values are correct. I attach the last Mxdiags.

There may still be some issues, look at the rain counter...

Code: Select all

When CMX starts...
2023-01-28 14:42:17.495 Midnight rain found, setting midnight rain count = 1128,3
2023-01-28 14:42:17.496 Checking rain counter = 7634,1
2023-01-28 14:42:17.496 Rain counter set to = 7634,1

Then a bit later...
2023-01-28 14:42:50.728 Rain total count from station = 3763

Those wrong values of rain should have been transferred when I was cleaning the rain sensor. Now it seems that it is runing well.
Now I am thinking to upgrade from v 3.9.6 (b3101) to v 3.12.0 (b3141) but, as I have the web folder with all files translated to Portuguese and also with some PHP files, I am afraid to do the upgrade.

I have upgraded CumulusMX from v3.9.6 (b3101) to v3.12.0 (b3141). I have opened the MX Administrative Interface and worked through all pages in the Settings menu. It showed the station values but didn’t transferred them to the site. Then I copied the old files from the data and web folders with the same result. I tried the “FTP Now” without success. Then I installed the old CumulusMX v3.9.6 that transferred the values to the site. I attach the last Mxdiags with CumulusMX v3.12.0.

Unfortunately I can’t open your mxdiags since I’m currently on iPad. But v3.10.0 did introduce major changes on how the website works. Did you notice that? It involves tranferring the new page structure to your website manually, and only json based data files are tranferred by cmx on every interval. Earlier versions did upload new complete html pages on every cycle, but now the pages are static and only the weather data is sent.

Edit: Forget that last post if you saw it, the log file continues, and that error is gone!

It does not look like you have enabled the files for upload in the: Internet|Interval settings?

When I ran v3.12.0 I had not uploaded the contents of the new webfiles folder to the site. Now I saw the wiki page “New Default Web Site Information”, I translated those webfiles to Portuguese and I have made a backup of the actual site content. When I will near the station I will clean the site files, I will upload the new webfiles and I will try again that Cumulus version.

I have updated CumulusMX to v 3.12.0(b3141), translated again all pages to Portuguese and uploaded strings.ini in order to have also those values in Portuguese. The only things that are missing are the old monthly and years values. Shall I transfer the backup and data folders values to CumulusMX?

Yes, with CMX stopped, copy over the /data folder. Also make sure that the "records began date" in your new instance is the same as before.

I would like to change “index.htm” in order to show “Indoor temperature” and “Indoor humudity”. I searched websitedata.json file to find the data-cmxdata attributes but I can’t find them.

Add them to the template file - websitedataT.json. You will need to re-apply your change whenever you upgrade to a new version of MX.

Indoor values are not added by default because of the security issues around them - they could possibly be used to determine if you are home or not.
