Got a strange one this morning, I had noticed it yesterday but couldn't be sure but today was definite
realtimegauges and CMX desktop shows last rain tip at 00:31 with 0.02 rain rate and 0.05 rain per hour max but the log file ,GW1100Cand HP2551 show no rain count. Have attached the today.ini

It's done it again today, from realtimegauges.txt:-
"rrateTM":"0.02",
"TrrateTM":"12:30",
"LastRainTipISO":"2023-01-16 12:54",
"hourlyrainTH":"0.00",
"ThourlyrainTH":"00:00",
but no rain count anywhere

Could the simple explanation be, that the total amount of rain is less than 0.01” so it is just not shown?

as far as I know each rain tip is = 0.01 inch /0.254mm of rain

Do you have an RG11 rain device?

I will need an MXdiags file with debug logging switched on and capture another event.

Meantime the MXdiags file for one of these events may show something.

Mark you have answered a question I wasn't sure of as no I do not have a RG11 sensor.
Have attached the diag file which covers both events. It finishes with CMX being closed (Can't remember why) at the same time as yesterdays event. CMX was not shut down on the 15th at 00:31, Land of nod had taken over. Everything OK today.

Looking at the 15th at 00:31, there was an increase in the rain counter - by 0.0039 inches, or 0.1 mm

The issue is 0.1mm when converted to inches is not enough to roll-over 0.01

That explains all then. The question is now do I use mm or stay with inches as I thought the tip count was 0.01inch
thanks Mark again
