AirLink WiFi is bad

I've had to make some changes to my network today. I've noticed how bad AirLink's WiFi is..

I have a lot of devices connected via WiFi - to a mesh network. AirLink is the closest device to any of the mesh routers. About 11 feet apart and only a pane of glass in the line of sight. Signal strength is almost non-existent! -85dB

I tried a different mesh just in case it was an issue with that, but nope! A huge price tag for the worst possible wireless connectivity.

Sorry to hear. I just use simple WiFi to modem/router (not familiar with mesh network) and my AirLink seems to connect very well and not aware of any issues (other than power failure :( ). It is outside in close proximity of my ISS and about 50 feet through several walls in the house including the outside brick wall.

Enjoy,
Paul

I assume the mesh network is the new element?
Did you try to automatically optimise the mesh network? In my case that is a tool in the mesh app. I don't have a real AirLink, but I do have 15 devices (not even that much) on 3 mesh routers. Everything working flawlessly after optimisation.

The mesh is the newer element, but it is all set up correctly. There's certainly nothing that can be changed to improve it.

Out of close to 30 devices, the AirLink has the worst signal strength and is the closest device to a mesh router. I'm pretty sure the AirLink is to blame, as I actually took it off of the wall and moved it towards the window, probably about 4 feet away, and the signal strength hardly changed, it still stayed -80dB or lower. The next nearest mesh router is upstairs, and two brick walls are in the way, and it struggles to even connect to it. If it does connect, it doesn't stay connected for very long.

Does anyone know how long the warranty is on the AirLink?

The manual doesn't show anything... https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0515/ ... 1656098534 but this does https://www.davisinstruments.com/pages/warranty-policy
Warranty Policy
1-Year Limited Warranty
We warrant our products to be free of defects in material and workmanship for a period of time after the date of original purchase. This period is one year for all products with the exception of the laser counter in the AirLink Air Quality Sensor which is warranted for 90 days after the date of purchase. While we make every effort to carefully manufacture our products to the highest standards of quality, occasionally parts may be found to be missing, defective, or damaged.
Enjoy,
Paul

I think I bought it from ProData.

I'll have to contact John. The WiFi is undoubtably crap on my AirLink.

mine sits about 80-82 dBm constantly and its mounted on the outside wall of my house. so only about 6ft away from my Unifi AP, but has brick and breeze block to go through.

have you tried if possible to increase channel width to 40mhz on the nearest AP perhaps?
