Backup rogue data

Post by Hoeveld »

So after doing a backup of SD card on raspberry pi copy utility both the original disc and target disc have become corrupted.
First issue was all the setup data held within CumulusMX was lost.
I have entered all data and CumulusMX is running fine on raspberry pi.
Cumulusmx Utils is running and data is getting to website PCMWX.com
Not all data seems to be getting through.
I have highlighted the data which does not get updated in yellow.
Other pics show data is being updated.
Any help would be gratefully appreciated....

Hi Paul,

Though the status of the files is not completely clear to me, the status of the website seems to show that the realtime.txt is not transferred to the website but the realtimegauges.txt is. It can be seen from the date/time in the clock panel which comes from the realtime.txt

Is the realtime.txt ticked in CMX Settings=>Internet Settings=>Interval Configuration=>Real time Interval Settings?

If that does not help, please switch debug on in CMX, let it run for 5 mins shutdown CMX and post the CMX logfile (start CMX again afterwards ;) ).

Regards,
Hans

Many thanks for taking time to reply so promptly.

Attached pic which shows the Realtime interval settings.

I have now ticked the generate box and all is fine.

What I find difficult to understand is how carrying out a SD card copy routine corrupts the setup data held within CMX for both the original AND the copy using pi SD card copier routine.

All's well in the world ;) ....

Did you shut down CMX before making the SD card copy?
While CMX is running the file may be modified during the copy process and it may be copying something different from what it thinks it is copying.

I would always shutdown CMX while backing up.
