Cumulus MX and Weatherlink.com

Post by Intelduopower »

Will Cumulus MX download historical data from weatherlink.com? I have supplied my API V2 information in Cumulus and cannot get it to download any data.

Hi,
Yes it will do the historical catch up if you have a Weatherlink.com Pro subscription.

Enjoy,
Paul

Paul,

I have a Pro Subscription, but it never pulls in any data. I am at a lost on what to do.

What does the CMX startup show?

Code: Select all

Cumulus MX v.3.22.4 build 3215
Working Dir: C:\KomokaWeather\CumulusMXwll\
Cumulus is already running - but 'Stop second instance' is disabled
Delaying start for 10 seconds
Start-up delay complete, continuing...

Cumulus running at: http://localhost:8999/
                    http://10.0.0.158:8999/

  Open the admin interface by entering one of the above URLs into a web browser.

Today.ini = data\today.ini
Last update=2022-12-26T12:50:00
Today.ini = data\today.ini
Last update=2022-12-26T12:50:00

Type Ctrl-C to terminate
Downloading Historic Data from WL.com from: 2022-12-26T12:50:00 to: 2022-12-26T12:53:41
 - No historic data available
Connecting real time FTP
Normal running
What is your CMX and WL.com interval period?
And you are waiting on a CMX stop and restart for a time at least more than your interval logging?

Do a CMX stop and restart (wait at least the time of your logging interval), zip up the MXdiags logfile and attach to a reply post.

Enjoy,
Paul

Paul,

Here is my startup below and I have attached the logs. My question is will Cumulus MX download past data from WL.com (Example 7-1-22) Even though I have set it up on a different machine. My previous machine puked and was not able to get any data from it.

Cumulus running at: http://localhost:8998/

By default CMX will download data from when it was last run, or in the case of a new install, the time of the first run.

If in a new install you want to download historic data then you need to...
1. Stop CMX
2. Delete all the files in the /data folder
3. Edit the Cumulus.ini file, and change the entry...
[station]
StartDate=
It is important to keep exactly the same format.
4. Start CMX

It will download data from the date you entered in the ini file until the current time, then start live running.

mcrossley,

I have made the change and stayed with the format. How do you know it is working? my startup is below.

It looks like you did not delete the files in the \data folder, CMX found a today.ini file with...

Code: Select all

Today.ini = data\today.ini
Last update=2022-12-28T18:16:35
So CMX attempted to download data from 2022-12-28 @ 18:16:35

Unless that is from a subsequent run after the first one?

Zip up your MXdiags folder and post it here.

Argh sorry! :bash:

It's my bad - still too fuzzy from Christmas is my excuse.

You need to delete everything in the data folder EXCEPT for the today.ini file.

There is even a FAQ for this I should have referred you to: https://www.cumuluswiki.org/a/FAQ#I%E2% ... er_station

So delete everything except your today.ini, then edit today.ini and delete everything apart from the lines shown in the FAQ, changing the date values to your desired start date, then restart CMX. (leave your Cumulus.ini start date at the same edited 'old' date you did before)
