Hi I lost 3 days of data on the 23,24,25,dec and was trying to do a couple of different things to fill in the gap I have the pro version of WLL and was trying to copy the data from there without success. I read on another topic you could delete the data from my data file while cumulsmx was stopped and restart cmx and catch up the data from WLL. I backed up my cmx and also my data folder and gave it a go and it did not work. so I tried to restore my cmx and there was only December data showing I also restored my back up of the data folder and it is still only showing December data
any help appreciated Mike

The best way of recovering from this is to restore from the daily backups that CMX takes to the backup folder.

First take a copy of your whole CMX folder.

Then stop CMX, and copy the daily backup folder for the 22 Dec (or 23rd, it's not clear how much you are missing) over your data folder, overwriting all the files.

Restart CMX

If you have a wl.com Pro subscription and your API details are set correctly, it should download all the data from 22 (or 23rd) up to the current time and then continue live running.

Is the missing data only in your dayfile https://bellendenkerweather.com/betel_d ... hp?lang=en or also in your monthly log file?

Enjoy,
Paul

Hi Paul
hope you had a great Christmas. I Have checked all my log files and day files and also the back up folder in cmx and I can not find the missing data in any of them I lost all my historical data also and was left with just December data but I have fixed that problem and just missing the three days 23/12
,24/12 ,25/12 the only data I would be worried about would be the rain amounts but there was only 2.6mills difference missing from those days which is neither here nor there. so I could let it ride but I would like to know what to do if it happens again and more data involved. I have the data in wll but not sure yet how to transfer it over to cmx. I tried to highlight the data I wanted and copy it but it wont let me do that so my next thought is to try and download it and then copy and paste but have not got that far yet
cheers Mike

I would download it using CMX by reverting back, but first I'd backup the existing install. Once the download was complete, make a copy of the new December log file and the dayfile. Then restore the original CMX data, and merge in the missing data to the original December log file, and dayfile (using a decent editor). Not sure if that is clear or not!

Hi Mark
I know I said i understood your last post but now after reading it again I am uncertain. Are you saying to back up my current install and then download a fresh install from scratch. Also I read another post about changing the date in the ini file which could work. I am just not clear on it and am a bit hesitant as I do not want to cause more problems for myself.
Cheers Mike
