Empty month values

From build 3044 the development baton passed to Mark Crossley. Mark has been responsible for all the Builds since. He has made the code available on GitHub. It is Mark's hope that others will join in this development, but at the very least he welcomes your ideas for future developments (see Cumulus MX Development suggestions).

Empty month values

Post by malmeida »

After updating CumulusMX from build 3063 to build 3072 and copied old Cumulus.ini, Cumulus/data files, Cumulus/web files, strings.ini, cumulusmx.sh and cumulusmxsh.conf, pages thisyear.htm, record.htm and monthlyrecord.htm only have December values. All other moths values are empty.
What must I do?

You may need to check your Records Began Date. You will find this under Settings > Station Settings > General Settings > Advanced Options.

What folder have you installed into?

Please zip up and attach your MXdiags folder.

I am at 40km from the station and I will go there next week. It is running in a Raspberry pi. But I have transferred the last MXdiags, that is attached.

Hi,
After updating CumulusMX from build 3063 to build 3072
Both those versions 3.3.0 and 3.5.1 are now quite old, with current being v3.22.4 build 3215!
CumulusMX has changed a lot over this time, including what is being logged in MXdiags. Your MXdiags logs seem very limited with a lot of times being more than 10 minutes and even more than 30 minutes between logging.

Code: Select all

Current CumulusMX is much more helpful in diagnosing what is going on.

Your MXdiags shows

Code: Select all

2022-12-22 14:35:15.224 Cumulus start date: 04-10-2016
But note the comment in settings

Code: Select all

Records Began Date
October 27, 2008
IMPORTANT: You MUST keep the same date format when editing this field.
and copied old Cumulus.ini, Cumulus/data files, Cumulus/web files, strings.ini, cumulusmx.sh and cumulusmxsh.conf,
It is highly recommended that all the files and folders of a new build be installed over top of existing rather than select files/folders. An exception could be the template files in CumulusMX\web folder may have modified to suit your website.

Enjoy,
Paul

All the data is contained in the files in the /data folder. So if you copy over the whole folder and the Cumulus.ini file, the new install will have all the same data as the previous install. All I can think is that you have not copied all the files.

Thank you for your answer. Indeed I had not transferred data files. Now I have made it but the situation is the same. I attach the Mxdiags file made after the transference.

When I tried to transfer file alltimemonthly.ini there was a message saying it was not possible. Now I deleted that file and transferred the old one. Then I have page monthlyrecord.htm with all months values. But pages thisyear.htm and record.htm only have December values. Then there was the same situation with file year.in but nothing changed after having transferred it.

Problem solved. I copied all ini files from old /data folder after deleting the new ones.

Two years ago I have adapted datasummary.php file to show daily values of temperature, humidity, rain and pressure of the current year. I use ImportCumulusFile.php to do that. Now, after updating Cumulus there are some missing days (between November 23 and December 21) after the updating. I found that dayfile.txt of the server doesn’t have those missing days but dayfile.txt in CumulusMX folder have those days. I have transferred dayfile.txt with all days to the server but the next day I verify that the server dayfile.txt of the server does not have those days.

How are you copying the day file to your server? That is not a standard CMX feature so it must be something you have configured; it sounds like it is copying the file from the wrong location.

I think that I made uploading dayfile.txt to the server by using http://localhoest:8998. But as I am far away from the station I don't know how to do that through the internet.
