Errant or rouge alarms
So, am running the latest version of CumulusMX on Windows tablet.
I keep receiving rogue or multiple alarms. I believe I have used latch setting.
This morning I believe i disabled ALL alarms.
I have previously set the wind threshold to 30mph.
A day or two ago I increased the threshold to 35mph
This morning with all alarms disabled [ i believe ] I received an alarm email A Cumulus MX alarm has been triggered. A wind gust above 30 mph has occurred. Wind gust at the time of alarm was 34mph
I attach a couple of files which I am to understand may help in sourcing issue and a screenshot of alarms settings all as detailed by previous correspondents.
Any advice would be gratefully received.
Cordially

Hi Paul,
I think you better remove your inifile as it has your un/pw and API keys for several services in it.
Wait until anybody with knowledge of a windows tablet asks for files to send via PM.
The MXdiags may be useful though.

Re: Errant or rouge alarms
Hi Paul,
Two things come to my mind. First, have you restarted Cumulus after disabling the alarms? I don’t have any alarms defined on my own setup, so can’t tell if all the settings are straight effective or not.
Second, have you configured yor tablet so that it never goes to sleep? Waking up from sleep could cause strange things to happen.
For other forum readers / contributors, windows tablet is not really different from any windows pc except its physical form, so any issues, causes or fixes should be valid for both.

Re: Errant or rouge alarms
Sami,
paljon kiitoksia for your reply.
Yes I have re-started CumulusMX after un-checking all Alarm tick boxes.
The installation is on constant with tablet, the reason I chose tablet was so I would have a permanent display of readings.
Today is quite breezy, and again I am receiving alarms once a wind gust of over 30mph is reached, even though previous threshold was 35mph and all alarms are disabled.
Take Care

Re: Errant or rouge alarms
I can't see how this happening.
On your main dashboard page, do you see that the alarm is enabled - it will appear at the bottom of the screen.
You don't have a second copy of CMX running somewhere, do you?

Re: Errant or rouge alarms
Mark thanks for taking time to help.
I attach copy of dashboard page with no alarms highlighted at bottom.
I have two installations of Cumulusmx running.....one on windows tablet, second installation is on Raspberry pi which has alarms enabled.
Each installation has different email address.
Pi Installation has a wind gust threshold of 35mph.
Windows installation now disabled, previously had a threshold of 30mph.
Today with gusts of 31 or 32 mph....I have received email alerts as 30mph threshold has been reached.

Re: Errant or rouge alarms
That may be the reason for you not being able to save settings. Installing in that area gives you problems with file permissions. You should install somewhere like c:\CumulusMX. This is recommended practice. This is is covered in the Wiki.
