Just upgraded this weekend to Cumulus MX from Version 1. I link the new dashboard and Admin portal. I have setup MX as a Davis Vantage Pro2/Vue and the WeatherLink Live station type.
When I run as the Davis Vantage Pro2/Vue, I can see live/current data on http://localhost:8998/, WeatherUnderground, and PWSWeather. I cannot update data to WeatherLink Live.
When I run as WeatherLink Live, i can only get data for Weather link live, with a station ID error and no other services are updating. AM I missing a configuration to allow all the services to be updated?

Re: CumulusMX Vantage Vue and Weather link
So you have both a Vue console + logger, and a WeatherLink Live device?

Re: CumulusMX Vantage Vue and Weather link
Hi,
You are no doubt familiar with the VP2/Vue/console setup and original Cumulus1. You can run CumulusMX the same way as you did Cumulus1. In CumulusMX Station settings > General settings > for Station type select Davis Vantage Pro2/Vue (in the station model description you can enter whatever you want). Then complete the settings for Davis VP/VP2/Vue. In this setting CumulusMX will get the data from your Vue console/logger the same way as Cumulus1 does.
If you want to use CumulusMX with Weatherlink Live then in Station settings > General settings > Station settings > for station type select Davis Weatherlink Live. Again you can enter whatever you want in station model description. When you select station model Weatherlink Live then the specific Davis Weatherlink Live settings will show - Network Settings, Weatherlink.com API Details, Primary Sensors, etc. When you have the Davis Weatherlink Live settings completed then CumulusMX will get the live data from the WLL - outside data from ISS received by the WLL device and then to CumulusMX, and also inside date from the WLL to CumulusMX.
In addition to CumulusMX accessing the WLL data, WLL also sends data to your Weatherlink.com account. This is separate and independent to CumulusMX. Since WLL is wireless and internet based the WLL stores data if internet connection is lost and will update that to WL.com when restored. This stored data at WL.com is used by CumulusMX for historical catchup after you stop CumulusMX and later restart similar to what the Vue console/logger does, but only if you have the WL.com paid Pro subscription. From your WL.com account you can upload direct to WU, CWOP and WOW. From CumulusMX you can upload to any of the weather services listed in Third Party Uploads.
Now if you want to run CumulusMX with both your Vue console/logger and WLL you can run 2 separate CumulusMX
Enjoy,
Paul
I think just a bit of clarification needed on the original VP2/Vue with console, compared to the newer Weatherlink Live. When I run as the Davis Vantage Pro2/Vue, I can see live/current data on http://localhost:8998/, WeatherUnderground, and PWSWeather. I cannot update data to WeatherLink Live.
When I run as WeatherLink Live, i can only get data for Weather link live,
In CumulusMX station settings it is either station type VP2/Vue or Weatherlink Live, you cannot select both.I have setup MX as a Davis Vantage Pro2/Vue and the WeatherLink Live station type.

Re: CumulusMX Vantage Vue and Weather link
Thanks Paul,
I figured it was one or the other. With the WLL, I cannot send to the other services like UGW. I figured I had to run one or the other.
I also thought about running a second CumulusXM but, I was concerned the Vue console could not handle the second connection. I also tried to run the a second CumulusMX.exe it it just crashed.

Re: CumulusMX Vantage Vue and Weather link
With the WLL, it is weatherlink.com that sends to third parties, you have to configure it there. Is UGW WeatherUnderground?
When running a second instance of CMX you have to tell it to use a different port from the default 8998. Two programs cannot access the same port at the same time.
e.g.
CumulusMx.exe -port 8999

Re: CumulusMX Vantage Vue and Weather link
The Vue console/datalogger and the Weatherlink Live both receive the same data from your outside ISS. They work totally independent from each other. The console/datalogger can only have one program access it at the same time so you can have Cumulus1 or CumulusMX (or WeatherlinkPC) access your Vue console/datalogger. However the WLL can have unlimited programs access it at the same time. By default WLL updates to your Weatherlink.com account and programs like CumulusMX can at the same time access the live data. CumulusMX can also access the archived data at WL.com if you have the Pro subscription.I also thought about running a second CumulusXM but, I was concerned the Vue console could not handle the second connection.
Weatherlink.com by itself is limited in sending to WU, CWOP and WOW through its Uploads settings. CumulusMX can send to those as well, and to all the ones listed in the Third party uploads settings.I figured it was one or the other. With the WLL, I cannot send to the other services like UGW. I figured I had to run one or the other.
Enjoy,
Paul
