UK / Europe webhosting (Reseller)

I've been very happy with Rochen.com over the years (20+) but over the last few years I've been moved to a legacy package that no longer gives me the ability to grow

As an example, I can host unlimited websites with all the lovely features - with a max of 11GB of bandwidth across all sites.

Right now - www.stewartonweather until today is using about 9GB - with mostly testing and is soon to go over limits (I have about 10 accounts, all the rest are using minimum resources)

Now I've been in contact with Rochen, who are not willing to give me the extra b/w - even after telling me that 'bandwidth is no longer a selling feature' on their more modern plans.

I still want to have full control over WHM and CPanel and I'm looking at my other options - actually that stage I might even pay more to move.

so here are my current options

https://www.rochen.com/web-hosting/ £34.95 a month to stay on a similar package to what I have (my list bill was £27.43

And another option I was looking at was host armada on their 'protoseller account which is $39.95 a month for pretty much what I used to get with Rochen with the same unlimited options.

https://hostarmada.com/cloud-ssd-Reseller-hosting/

Has anyone any experience with hostarmada - can you think of any alternatives?

Must allow 50+ accounts
Must have Cpanel / WHM

thanks!

I am not a reseller so I don't know about their prices but I've found Krystal very good as my host.

Thanks Stuart,

They are not quite what I'm looking for but seems more palatable than my current proposition

cheers.

@nossie: did you try to reduce data transfers by selecting only the necessary data (parameters, files etc...) in CMX and using thrifty in CUtils?

First of all -

THANK YOU

Everyone for your input, I had a look at all the options available and was able to make an informed choice. The situation I had was that I had been with this company so long that when I first became their customer the official business address was a residential property in the northeast of Scotland. I had everything I could ever need, unlimited everything except bandwidth and space - and 20 years ago 12GB of b/w with options to upgrade was not a bad deal. I had my own real name servers and I'm guessing due to the way it works they kept upgrading the software and even included things like WHMCS which to be fair most companies charge a lot more for.

Sadly these days, I don't need a whole billing system or this and that and they have thrown in a lot over the years, but their stubbornness to not give me the option for a little more b/w each month - considering I had been paying over the odds for 10+ years - was the final nail in the coffin.

So I had a good look and a thunk about Krystal after Stuarts recommendation and so far I'm pretty happy - I interacted maybe 10 times with Rochen on a business level in 20 years and had impressive results. With my experience of Krystal so far, I really hope that will still be the case - and not for good reasons (grins). They offer similar features to what I have, minus a dedicated IP and dedicated nameservers and currently the load averages seem much lower than what I had before. I don't have unlimited accounts, but I still get more for less than with Rochens new plans.

I still think Rochen is an excellent choice for those that really need what they offer - but with my use case, for side projects and the fact I self-host so much stuff already moving away was the only logical option.

Hans, additional to the above - I had been using thrifty and extending the intervals towards the middle of the month, however it was going to be inevitable that without severely restricting the usage that account was going to get suspended and that then left me precariously on the edge with my other accounts. If they had offered to give me another 5GB for a month or as an extra monthly charge, I may have kept up with it but it's their lose and my gain at the end of the day.
