My interval for sending out the HTTP message to CumulusMX is set to 16 seconds (the minimum setting the HP2551 firmware will let me set) but Cumulus MX does not get a station update every 16 seconds. It seems quite variable as to when it updates but it is a minimum of 30 seconds and sometimes at least 50 seconds to a minute.
My test system on my Synology NAS is getting data from a GW1100 gateway which is fed from the HP2551 and it has the upload setting set to 5 seconds and the station update happens every 10 seconds without fail, not variable at all.
Any reason for this or is it just the way the Ecowitt HTTP protocol works.

Re: HP2551 Weather Station HTTP interval
I seem to recall from the wxforum that the HP2551 is low powered compute wise and just the uploads when it has a spare moment! (kinda sort of, paraphrasing there) Particularly if it has multiple uploads configured.

This has been discussed before:

and I think the conclusion was: it is the Ecowitt.
